FlyingfreeWDW, Thanks for your kind words. It would take a lot more than a few people standing on their heads thinkng I'm upside down to spoil my opinion of DVC or the value this discussion board offers. It was just a misguided guide with the wrong sign.

I'm still laughing about it. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :stir:

Sammie, the sign didn't say "Presentation, enter here" It said "Open House", plus I don't think TTS will think its childish when they cash the commission checks.

It is what it is. Moderator kill this thread. Please. I'm sick of deifining "OPEN HOUSE" :teacher:

Well I would certainly hope that a Net forum discussion would never influence someone to not like DVC. As to the meaning of Open House there are many, yours included and this one: An advertised period of time in which a property which is for sale is available for inspection by prospective purchasers

Possibly if you had gone up said you were interested as a prospective buyer irregardless of whether you were already a member the outcome would have been different.

I am sure the Timeshare Store appreciates any referrels and they offer a great product, but I was confused as to how you talked to those that you referred to the TSS, if you did not gain admittance to the Open House. :confused3

Hi, I know you asked to close the thread but I do appreciate the heads up regarding your experience. I believe some in this thread mentioned they were turned away (for lack of a better word) as well and others were not. To me at least it gave me a heads up that this has happened should I ever want to go into an "Open House".

While I'd agree that your definition is the most common one, it's not the only one. There are very strict rules on timeshare sales offers and I wonder if having a nonmember just walk through is possibly outside those rules thus they assign each prospect a guide for the "open house". I always find it funny when differing opinions are construed as flames as in this thread. I also feel that being upset over this issue is unreasonable.

Let me make sure I understand; You think SSR should be left out of this discussion because DVD is trying to sell BWV inventory out of the models the OP was excluded from. Is that correct?

In the context of my entire statement, based on the reason it was brought in to the conversation... YES that is correct! "Welcome to the Mountain"
:thumbsup2

??? I was just stating what I think to be true, never said it was factual. It just makes sense. Why was my opinion Goofy? It's more than obvious that the resale market has grown tremendously, and I (notice I said I) believe it has impacted SSR sales. I have told at least 10 prospects to go resale to save $$$.

OK you got me on the "goofy" remark, sometimes the fingers are faster than the brain, point is though we were not there and are only getting one side of the story. Since DVC is in it to sell contracts I'm sure they would not knowinly turn away anyone interested in buying...

Anyone care to help this person out?

I remember back when guides used to say the best way to to sell a prospect on DVC was to introduce them to an existing member. Maybe the advent of SSR has changed all that.

Insinuations like the one above are the only reason SSR was brought into this thread. If you don't like SSR it's so simple any one should be able to understand! Don't stay there.
Thanks for the offer get me some help. But just because some one fails to crumble under your SSR bashing does not mean they need help. Go back read the thread and if you are to post a quote try not to post sentence fragments that make it sound as though you have a valid point... :rotfl2:

...your SSR bashing...
Is it at all possible that the presumed "bashing" on my part might just as well be interpreted as over-sensitivity on your part?

Reminder, please keep thread on topic.

Sorry, but the little feuds do keep it interesting
Think I'll swing by BWV next week and see if they will let me take a "looksee". Really would like to get enough points either there or BC to stay during F+W.

This thread reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld: Essentially about nothing, makes you cringe at times, but humorous nonetheless.

Hmmm, I often feel that way about the boards; yet I return...

Well, this thread seems to have run its course. It is now closed.
