Banned for entering too may codes at once?

I heard very briefly on old thread that you can get banned for entering too many codes at one time. Is this true, and if so how many codes can you enter at once?

I do know a few people got nice little warnings back when the Jack Sparrow costume appeared for entering too many codes. Personally, I think it's completely illogical, especially with the Jack Sparrow game.

I don't think there's a limit to the number of codes, just a limit to the speed in which you enter them. Just try not to type too fast and you should be okay.

actually it is. I have tried both ways and the character "mule" got banned. It is 20 no matter what

I've entered 200 in one log in recently and got no warning or a ban. When I got the warning when the pirate game first came out it was for entering them too fast (apparently I was using a third party program..which I wasn't). So I think its either more than 200 or just how fast you type them in.

yeah it's been awhile, but I used to enter a hundred or so per log in when I was trying for Sparrow. The only time I got a warning was the first day when I started typing too quickly.

Silly me, still trying for Sparrow and making up for lost time with the Yeti codes. I have recently entered 40+ codes at one time (login) with not problem....However, I do type slowly.

I have entered more than 20 at one time on my main character and my mules.
And that was during the the time when they were banning people left and right for entering codes.

I wait about 16-20 seconds or more between hitting enter on each code.
I was usually entering about 30 at a time.

you must have a target on your back because I often enter 30 or more codes in one sitting on various charachters without so much as a warning.

I think it was the type of codes being entered that was drawing the bans.


Let's say that if someone entered 20 codes and more than a few were for say Narnia teleporters then I think VMK would get alittle concerned about the player doing the entering.

i think that it is a little weird that you cant enter that many codes.. then again, Mal's reason does make sense. MAybe it was because some people can get unlimited codes from downloading a site or something..

If you use the program to enter the codes you will get banned...

I had used it in the past- only because I don't type from a page to the keyboard that well and I was having trouble getting codes in by hand- but when they started banning people I defintely stopped.

DH once got a visit from staff when he was entering pirate codes by hand- that he shouldn't use the program (short keys) but he was typing by hand- and the staff member just suggested he type more slowly because it looked like he was using a program

As far as number of codes- I typed many many codes in on one log in- much more than 20 - not that long ago- I was entering unused park quest codes and a few pirate codes I found in all my stuff... and never got a comment- but my typing of codes takes a while...

I know back when I was actively trying for the sparrow costume I'd do 50 or so at a time and never got a comment

I agree with Mal- that I think some get targeted because the type of code- could make it seem like it is a falsely generated code and also has something to do with the speed that the codes are entered and a lot less to do with the actual number of codes

And then again- maybe they just watch people who have had frequent bans for different things and are more likely to expect bad behavior than not...

I had a bit of a break from typing in the POTC codes. So yesterday when I typed some in on a mule, so I wouldn't have interruptions, all was fine.

But when I went to trade the stuff back to my main.. I was not allowed to?! They were "grayed" out.

I know that we can't trade the waterslide up and downhills. Also can't trade Narnia teleporters.. and so on. But I never heard anything about the POTC stuff not being tradeable. Is this new? What about the Sparrow outfit (assuming I ever can get it), I have been trying through thousands of codes just to get it for a friend?

From what I understand you can trade sparrow- but none of the other items- I know it was VMKs silly solution to people over doing the codes- but makes little or no sense- Same thing with Narnia stuff- . and the Monstor doors- which is just annoying because it was great to link rooms with pink doors- but all pink doors are non tradeable

No idea why some of this "free" and easy to obtain stuff is not tradeable- makes no sense to me at all- but then again I've learned that VMK has not always worked on the same logic I use
