Banned for Battling

Hi Seagully,
It was fun playing potc with you today and I am happy that we had some good and stress-free games. Thanks for adding me to friend's list. I'll see you on the dock. :)

:rotfl2:

Seagully: Well after our global thermonuclear game of pirates, you'll be wishing you had a nice game of checkers. ;) I'll be bringing out the big cannons this time.

And ... RikiStarlet, Aengus if I run into you on the docks give me a lesson about these 'bots' so i can fight them if I do come across their ships at sea. :rotfl:

Well so far the seas are calm, been choosing my games carefully I agree though I believe there is a rule about false reporting could get you banned. VMK staff has enough virtually things to worry about at the moment, (like angry traders who worked hard for red HKDL and black mansion that are now released) I don't want to trouble, wrote explaining hope they reviewed and removed it from my record. I'll seek revenge on these players at sea rather than contacting them. and revenge is usually sweet just as long as they don't get angry again...perhaps i should just fight by running away if i see them on dock. pirate:

I went down there and saw pink but she just ignored me :lmao:

Ran into to fantasymooma and we played a couple of games but the lag on my end was horrendous, this one little twerp even was so kind to say i stuck at the end of one game :rotfl2:

I try to give people a chance if I see they are not moving or they are stuck on a reef I will circle to see if we can continue to play.

I really enjoy a good battle, some of the driving skills these folks have and the angles they can get on shots is amazing.

I once ran into a two pirate players that insisted that I had used a cheat code (just bc I had beat them). They lit into me from the moment we set foot back on dock. They were steaming MAD (apparently they don't lose very often) and both said they were going to report me for using a cheat code. And these, I might add, were NOT kids... they are very well known adults around the pirate docks...

However, I never did receive a warning or a ban from it. :confused3

So sorry this happened to you, Seagully. Makes me a little afraid to play pirates. I'm called a cheater all the time, and if truth be told, I love to be called names. I just think it's funny. And I can be guilty of egging them on to... :rolleyes1 Guess I'll have to hold myself back some... ;)

I know it's only a 24-hour ban... but I hope VMK investigates the matter further and removes the ban from your record.

Hugs!

I was also accused of cheating by the same individuals as Pink and yes, they are adults and well known Dis Players. I just ignore them and know better than to join or have them join one of my games. They were steaming mad because they lost and believed that I had cheated.

To my knowledge there is no way to cheat and I play all the time. I do get called names all the time, especially when I have no ammo and have to go in search for some - then of course I am running? - even though the other players have no idea that I have one health and no ammo. Sigh.........

Ignore has become my new best friend.

hey you 'we sink at pirates club' members can join the 'we sink ships at pirates club' in a few battles. It takes practice and skills but most of the time for me it's just luck. I either win the game or I sink in seconds and are left to ponder wishing i was still in the game. (anyone else think that the people who are sunk should be able to pass there 'leftover' ammo to the other players? give us something to do.)

Dreams it was alot of fun playing those games with you yesterday will see you on the dock again soon matey.

ran into pink a few times in the lobby as well must have had an afk day!

dr, most of the time I do wait for the person to get unstuck before I shoot, i gather ammo, because i would want them to wait for me. but if it seems there not going anywhere and time is running out or kraken is trying to beat me to the ship i do shoot, and when i don't shoot and they get out i usually find myself sunk

cruise, i use the black pearl so always get blamed for running even when i'm not searching for ammo. Apparently that if you shoot the ships but don't get shot yourself your running. So I suppose i do run....to avoid peoples cannons...who knew? About that ignore button, used to be my best friend until I realized that it wouldn't stay forever. I Like the way you can ignore friend requests and trades. I used to get so many random requests.

Wow that is so sad adult dis players saying that people cheat. Have you not got anything better to do than bring people down. They may be adult in age only seems they have the mentality of a toddler. I did not say kid because I know a lot of kids that treat others with much more respect.

So next time one of these adults pulls a temper tantrums ask them When was your last diaper change cause you full of it.

Of course you first need to know the login, and the do the research to figure out what family member/dog/aunt/cousin/cat/favorite national park/historical figure is the password...but then you're in!

I don't use any of those! :p

I've even been called a cheater in the game. And I don't play that well! I just ignore it and let it roll off my back.

Seagully: If you haven't heard back from them about this yet, you should make sure that you can get emails from them. Some email systems don't work with them and some will automatically filter their responses into the spam or oblivion. I think a list is on the homepage or on the newsletter page at the very bottom.

hmm I didn't think of that, I have received emails from them when I submit a vote for best guest, best quest etc. I assume if they reply they would contact from the same email address, am I right?

We all know that programmers always forget and always leave the backdoor passwords in the program! Who hasn't seen "Wargames"? Of course you first need to know the login, and the do the research to figure out what family member/dog/aunt/cousin/cat/favorite national park/historical figure is the password...but then you're in!

David: Let's play Global Thermonuclear War.
Joshua: Wouldn't you prefer a nice game of chess?
David: Later. Right now lets play Global Thermonuclear War.
Joshua: Fine.

Believe it or not, up until just a few years ago, the default administrator password for new servers was "password" and most of the people getting those machines did not have much computer experience. I successfully proved that point in 1999 when I "hacked" a friend's company to prove to him that he was not secure.

He said to me "You will never figure it out, I am way secure" witha big grin on his face.

So I logged into his server with username "Admin" and password "password" and watched his draw drop :)

I even know that and all I do with a computer is data entry.

They changed it with the release of Win2K Server, now the initial admin password is a unique code which comes with the license agreement.

True on all count!

Some people I have seen fake being stuck just to get you close and then shoot that is kinda cheap to me or you wait and then they shoot ya LOL.

Its not running its a tactical retreat! time to reload and repair!

One tactic also I have seen used is to keep getting the health even when its not needed to keep the other team from getting it and I dont hold that against them.

I used to think I was a sly scaborous dog by hiding in a cloud and pouncing at the right opportunity. Little did I know that the clouds you see on your screen are rarely the same clouds on your opponents screen. :)

Other ways I have tried to "cheat":

- Saying, "Wait, don't shoot! I dropped my cake."
- Hiding in the top bar of the screen while giggling like a schoolgirl.
- Playing a level one game and then immediately asking "How do you shoot?"
- Playing a ship battle game and then typing "Go get the flag!"
- Shooting my own teammate in Capture ... repeatedly.

I've tried to play as maturely as I can, but gosh, sometimes I can't stop myself. I try to make the game fun, and if I can type fast enough and pummel my opponents, I am a happy cowboy.
