Banned for Battling

Ahoy there, So I was playing pirates yesterday and I wasn't really paying attention to the text conversation going on between the other fighters. It was getting quite distracting though and it seemed all they were doing was chatting. Aside from my gl and gg I was quiet and just sunk the ships. I was the last ships on the seas both rounds and I admit left them with very little credits. Perhaps it was because they were too busy chatting to pay attention to the fact that I was shooting their ships, maybe they had lag, maybe i was just playing the game. But as the score board showed just how many points i took from them they suddenly came to the conclusion that I cheat. So one of the fighters says i'm reporting, i thought nothing of it as this wouldn't be the first reported threat for winning a game. I entered the lobby and nearly everyone from the royal crew were ranting about how they were going to report me, I cheat, I'm 'cheap' and what not. I said nothing. Few seconds later I get a 24hr ban for language. All I did was play the game. It's a 24 hour ban, and though that's not a big deal I contacted VMK staff through the 'contact us' page because they should know I did nothing wrong. Has anyone else had this problem while playing pirates? It's frustrating because I know there are many people out there that should be banned for their own safety because of language and I get a ban for playing a game with those who can't handle a lose and don't realize that it is just a game. Arrrr suppose I'll just have to choose to join games more carefully now.

From what I hear, there are lots of rumors of a cheat code being used in the game? (no nothing about it) All I have heard is that it makes the ship have unlimited life except when hit with gold? (anyone else hear of this)

And I have heard of ppl being banned for being accused of cheating with that "hear say" cheat code.

Not sure if that is why you were banned. Certainly did not match the description.

I don't know anything about a cheat code. If the staff suspected that you were hacking the game the ban would have been for more than 24 hours I think.

You should use "contact us" and ask them to tell you what you did wrong. If you honestly know you did not do anything, ask them to remove it from your record.

I would think that they would tell you if they banned you for cheating, and not just say "language." It makes me quite scared to win at pirates now... I hope they take it off your record.

I have never heard of this cheat code either, and don't think it would even be possible. I did contact vmk and explained what happened, they'll see I did nothing wrong and hopefully take this off my record. I only play for the fun of the game and would never 'cheat' even if there was a way. I think that the people who reported me were upset about losing and therefore decided to report me, apparently for language because there was nothing to report about.

That's why I NEVER play pirates with anyone other than friendly pirates
with disers. A lot of other pirate players are sour loser brats!

Also I remember after the first level in fireworks(fantasyland stages) I had
a total score of 1410 and I was accused of cheating because it "wasn't
possible to get into the 1400's after fantasyland stages" but I swear I didn't
cheat...

Thankfully they let it go and only one person reported me and vmk staff didn't
ban me lol.

I am called a cheater in pirates at least 5 times a day. This does not get your banned.

This is the first I have heard anything about a cheat code. Would love to know if anyone else has heard of it.

I think that you should write to vmk to find out the real reason for your ban.

a "cheat code" is next to impossible unless you are hacking directly into the VMK servers using an outside source. Do not believe rumors.

I've never heard anything nor know anything about a "cheat" for pirates.
It's a shame you get banned for playing a well-deserved game.
I'm hoping the staff will see that you did nothing at all wrong!

Hi, I am sorry to hear about you receiving this strange ban. Something seems wrong if it was as described. It is right for you to contact them even though it is a short ban and you will probably be back on before any kind of answer. Maybe all in that game automatically received the ban?
Please feel free to play with or against me anytime for a drama-free game. I am mostly just a gl/gg girl too and don't care if i win or lose

Unless your packet editing cheating on vmk is near impossible since it's Java/Shockwave and cannot be hacked. Everyone who says you can is an idiot.

I once ran into a two pirate players that insisted that I had used a cheat code (just bc I had beat them). They lit into me from the moment we set foot back on dock. They were steaming MAD (apparently they don't lose very often) and both said they were going to report me for using a cheat code. And these, I might add, were NOT kids... they are very well known adults around the pirate docks...

However, I never did receive a warning or a ban from it.

So sorry this happened to you, Seagully. Makes me a little afraid to play pirates. I'm called a cheater all the time, and if truth be told, I love to be called names. I just think it's funny. And I can be guilty of egging them on to... Guess I'll have to hold myself back some...

I know it's only a 24-hour ban... but I hope VMK investigates the matter further and removes the ban from your record.

Psst. The cheat is getting health before they do. Since it keeps them from winning, it's the biggest cheat code ever.

Wish they were dis players and could walk over and read your post on the coping and compasion sub board. Their struggle over loosing a pirate game is nothing to your daily struggle to be well. It is so sad when people let a game cause so much turmoil in their lives. Must be nice that the only thing to be sad or unhappy about is a kids pirate game.

So sorry about this and hoping VMK makes it right and apologizes for the ban. From what I have gotten to know about you I would say this is a very unfair and you deserve better
