Hey, I had a question about how people on the College Program and Career Start program get paid. I currently bank with Chase, which is the bank of the Disney parks. But was wondering if that is who they do their payroll through. If anyone could help me out I'm a big fan of direct deposit and would like some info on how this works! Also, do they have ATMS in the apartment complexes?? Thanks!!!!:cool1:

upon check in, you can open an account with a bank associated with disney, at the housing meeting they will have people there to do that with you. i recommend doing that as they have atms at both vista and chatham, plus they can direct deposit ur paycheck which makes things easy.

if you decide not to, u can use ur current bank as for direct deposit, but it will be tough to take out cash.. so open an account there with those people at the housing meeting (i forget the name of the bank)

Thanks! I was wondering that because I knew Chase bank had ATMS in the parks so I thought disney might use them for payroll!!

you can get direct deposit no matter what bank u have i didnt join the the disney bank which is called partners instead i stayed with my bank and every week i still got my paycheck direct deposited into my account. If you have chase they can just put it in your account and you can take it out at the chase atms whenever u need to.

Is there a Chase location there? I just opened an account to share with my Dad (he's in OK, I'm in OH), but didn't see a location in Orlando. Right now, I'm using BOA, which is what I thought my DD said Disney checks are drawn on, but I'm not very happy with them right now.

The bank branch Disney uses is VCU (which I believe stands for Vista Credit Union, or something like that). I opened an account with them back on my first CP, and I do direct deposit (so I don't have to worry about having to cash the checks).

The ATMS at housing are VCU ATMS. Same goes for backstage at the parks.

Thanks guys for really helping me out. I thought I was being smart when I switched over to Chase bank, I gess I will keep them because I really like the service they offer!!! I know they have Chase bank ATMs in the parks so that will help, and mom can deposite money into my account when she needs because its close to home! Once again thanks!

Actually, Vista Federal Credit Union doesn't exist anymore. They merged with/were absorbed by Partners FCU, the CM Credit Union here at the DLR, and are now called Partners FCU.

While you can get Direct Deposit into any Bank or Credit Union account, I use them because of the good interest rates they have on their Credit Cards, as well as because of the convenience (the backstage ATMs, and their off-property location is quite close to my house). Not to mention that the service is much better than what I had when I was with BoA, lol.

When you open the account there do they give you a debit card? I hate carrying cash lol I use my card for everything.

yes you get a debit card.

If you have chase, I'd continue to use them unless you have a big reason to switch. Although the ATMs at Vista and Chatham are from PCU, all the park ATMs are Chase and it's a lot more convenient at a park to use them than to go backstage.

My credit union at home refunds me 20 dollars a month in ATM fees so I'll stick with them :-)

I will miss my no fee atms at Kwik trip though!(it's a midwest thing)

Thats nice to know. I think im going to stick with chase bank..it will just make it easier to transfer money from my parents :D . Thanks for the help!

that's probably a good idea. You can still open a PCU account just in case you end up with cash that you want to put in the bank for one reason or another, but if your paychecks are going straight into the bank, you won't really have a need I guess. I will have to get a little creative to move money around, but I'll figure it out. When in doubt, there's always paypal!

LOVE me some paypal:D :lmao: I think i read your TR awhile back.. Sooo cute.:D

When we got our first paychecks, we would go to Wal*Mart and cash them, then we enrolled in direct deposit because you get paid once a week and having to run to Wal*Mart to cash a check once a week is a hassle and will make you spend your money faster =(.

I was planning on staying with Chase. I think I read on one of the threads that there is a Walgreens across the street from either Vista or Chatham. If that is true, then finding a Chase ATM shouldn't be a problem because I think almost all Walgreens stores have Chase ATM's in them.

I currently use Trustmark so can my checks be put into my account with them or is it best to open a new account in FL? I need to be able to draw from an ATM, which is the main reason I'm asking.

when do you get paid...everyother week or every week??
