Banking, trasferring and borrowing question?

If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it. My parents and I both are fairly new DVC members (me, 12/04, parents 2/04) with the same use year of June.
My problem is that we planned a vacation together using all of their points, some of my points, that were transfered into parent's account and some borrowed points. We just found out that my mother probably has to have open heart surgery, with a long recuperation, it was about six months for my father three years ago.
I know I can bank all of their points to use the following year but what about the points tranferred from my account and the ones we borrowed from next year, do they have to be used by June 2006? Any info or advice is very much appreciated.

The points in the current Use Year may be banked and even the transferred points may be banked. The borrowed points cannot be banked, cannot be returned to your account and will expire at the end of the Use Year into which they were transferred.

You might keep your reservation intact as late as possible (paying attention to banking deadlines) and you may find that your Mom will make a speedy recovery. Hopefully she will!

The transferred points can be banked if they were done correctly. The borrowed points will expire the end of the use year which in your case seems to be 31 May, 2006 for a reservation occurring during your 2005 use year. Don't forget your 100% banking window is fast approaching.

Thanks for the quick answers. I do believe that nov 30th is the banking points for 100% of points. Does this apply to the transferred points as well?

Yes, if they were transferred into your 2005 Use Year - especially since they have the same Use Year.

You should check with MS as there have been reports of more flexibility with transferred points.

Just wanted to let you know - my grandparents - when they were younger - both had open heart surgery twice each! Their recovery times for the 4 surgeries ranged anywhere from 2 mo's to about 6 mo's. The norm seemed to be somewhere around the 3 month mark for them, though. You might be surprised at how soon your Mom gets better!
I know you can't plan against that - but thought it might make you feel better anyway - best of luck to your Mom..

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Kristi! We are trying to plan for the worst case scenario, than adjust for something better! It just came as such a shock because she had something totoally unrelated and those tests revealed this!
