I intend on banking points that another member transferred to me asap. The transferred points UY dictates if the points are still eligible to be banked, right?
I have BCV Feb UY. If I get pts trans'd in with a May UY 2007 today, I can't bank them...right? But i they were April 2008 UY, I can.

Yes, transferred points are supposed to retain original resort and Use Year status. There is no May UY - but if the transferred points are in the last 4 months of their Use Year, MS probably will not bank them - but it couldn't hurt to ask. Right now, points from the June or August, 2007 Use Year are beyond their banking deadline. Points with a September UY can still be banked thru this Wednesday (April 30).

If the transferred points are from April, 2008 (or any 2008 UY) they can definitely be banked.

In the past the banking rules have not applied to transferred points but this could change at any time. Thus you have been able to bank transferred points right up until the last day of the UY.

I was able to bank transferred points from my brother last year. The transferred points were VWL with an Aug UY and they were transferred to me in June. I was told transferred points don't follow the banking guidelines and may be banked at any time. I banked them as soon as they were in my account. I have OKW with a March UY and the transferred points did retain their original use year and home resort. Also they won't be visible on the members site.

As Dean mentions, you should verify the banking deadline with MS. On two past occasions, I was allowed to bank transferred points in with NO deadline applying to it.

I recently transferred in some from the same resort, but different use year (which actually extended the time I have to use them since they are now banked). However, this time MS told me that points had to be banked by the 8-month date--even transferred points would follow their original use year's banking deadline.

I would certainly ask for a second opinion or ask MS to confirm with a manager. I didn't really care this time, since I knew they fell within the transferor's banking deadline. But I do remember in the past having to get a supervisor's input when given incorrect information from a castmember.
