Banking Question

I have points left in my June 2016 UY and have to bank them by the end of January. I'm considering a trip in March 2017. Do I need to bank my 2016 points first in order to make my March reservation? If it matters, I will need to borrow points in my June 2017 UY to make the reservation. TIA

Your 2016 points are good until May 31, 2017 unless you bank them by Jan. 31, 2017. It would be good to know for sure by Jan. 31 if you will be making that March trip because you could use those 2016 points instead of banking them. If you don't know by Jan. 31 then you would probably want to bank the 2106 points. You won't be able to use those banked points for the March trip (banked points can't be unbanked) so you will need to borrow your 2017 points. Then you will need to be sure to use the banked 2016 points on some other trip before they expire on May 31, 2018.
