My use year is June. I banked 53 points to 2015. My next trip will be June 2016. Will I be able to use those banked points? Not sure when they will expire ? TIA

NO. Your 2015 UY is June 1, 2015 - May 31, 2016, so you will NOT be able to use those points in June 2016.

However, if you need more points, you will be able to borrow points from your 2017 UY.

Your 2014 points were good from June 1, 2014 until May 31, 2015. But you banked them into your 2015 UY. So now they are good from June 1, 2015 until May 31, 2016. They will have expired by June 1, 2016.

Your June 2015 UY runs from 6/1/2015 until 5/31/2016. Any points banked in to your June 2015 UY must be used for a reservation with a check-out date on or before 6/1/2016 or they will expire.

always start by looking at what UY the dates of your trip fall into:

a june 2016 stay is between june 1, 2016 and may 31, 2017 - that is in your june 2016 UY.

so you can use current june 2016 UY pts + banked 2015 UY pts + borrowed 2017 UY pts.

so you'd need to plan the trip with that in mind...

I've decided to use the 53 points for trip in November 2015. I plan on changing resorts at 7 month mark. Is it better to call MS to cancel / rebook in order to make sure the 53 that are expiring get allocated? Or can I just book a room myself online at 7 month mark then call MS when they open to have the 53 points reallocated to my new reservation?? TIA

When you change resorts at seven months out, you'll need to cancel the reservation you made at 11 months out. Unless you have enough points to book the new reservation at seven months out. At seven months out, you can use any points you have to book that stay.

But if you can't change the reservation at seven months out, if they 53 points are the same resort as the one you booked at 11 months out, call MS and ask them to swap them out. If they are a different resort, you won't be able to swap them out of that 11 month reservation.
