Banking points???

Hi Everyone: A question in search of an answer: How does banking of points work. For example: I have 300 points now, 100 banked from 2002 and 200 from June year 2003. How many can I bank? When can I bank? When can I use them and when do I have to use them by? I guess I lied about it being "a question" Thanks a ton.

Your 100 banked points from 2002 must be used by the end of your 2003 use year: May 31, 2004. Vacation points may only be banked from your current use year. Your 200 points from the current (2003) use year are subject to the standard banking windows: you can bank up to 100% (200 points) by the end of six months (November 30, 2003, for a June use year), up to 50% by the end of February, 2004, and up to 25% by the end of March.

Once banked, points must be used by the end of the use year into which they have been banked.

Once points are banked they cannot be returned to their original use year either

The percentages are also of the total number of points.

If you only bank 150 of your points by November 30, you are still done with banking for the year. On December 1, your limit will be to bank a total of 50% of your point or 100 points. 150 is over the 100 points so you can't put any more points in "the bank".

I am not understanding this banking scenario. How would I be banking in November if my use year is December? I thought I couldn't bank any percent of it past October.

Am I missing something?

The original poster, Canadian Tom, has a June Use Year. His cut-off months for banking are Nov., Feb & March. I was relating the dates and amounts to his example.

If you have a December Use Year, your dates for banking deadlines are different. A December Use Year must make the 100% decision by May 31, 50% as of Aug. 31 and 25% as of Sept. 30. From Oct. 1-November 30 no points may be banked.

Every Use Year has a different set of deadlines.
