If I borrow points from next year, then cancel my reservation, can I bank those points back into next year or am I committed to using them? What about the points in that cancelled reservation that weren't borrowed from next year? Can I bank those if I cancel the reservation? Sounds kind of confusing, so I'll give you the specifics. We're arriving Saturday nite and can't decide whether to stay at a DVC resort or a moderate before our 6 days at OKW starting Sunday. Suppose I book a studio at BCV, using about 10 points we have from this year, but I need to borrow the rest from next year (those dreaded weekend points). Then a good discount for cash comes out at a moderate, so I decide to stay there instead, so I cancel those Saturday nite ressies at BCV. I'm still within a banking window. Can I rebank those points I borrowed into next year? What about those 10 or so points I had from this year, used, then cancelled-can I now bank those? Hope I made myself clear-Thanks!

You can NOT bank the borrowed points. Once they are borrowed they must be used by the end of that use year. However you can bank the current year points that are part of that same reservation.

Good luck.

Once points are banked or borrowed, that's it. You must use them by the end of the Use Year to which they were moved. Current Use Year points can always be banked if you are within the guidelines.
