Banking Points and what does it mean exactly?

This is the first time I will be banking points and I just want to make sure I do it correctly. I have two contracts, one with an October use year and another with a December use year. I have already booked my trip to Disney in June. I now have a total of 278 points from 2021 that I won't be using this year, but will be using next year. Once I bank the 278 points from 2021 this year, that means I can no longer book a vacation using those points for the remainder of 2022, correct? I can however book a trip next year using my banked points for next year? Also, the remaining 278 points I am banking this year must be used by the end of next year corresponding w/ the Oct/Dec use year, correct? Thank you all so much.

Your banked points for the October UY would be good for any trip that starts no earlier than October 1, 2022 and ends no later than October 1, 2023 (September 30, 2023 being the last night of use). They cannot be banked another time, nor can they be transferred or borrowed.

For the December UY, the same rules follow with banked points being good for stays any time between 12/01/2022 - 12/01/2023 with the night of November 30, 2023 being the last night of use.

Even though the actual year is 2022, your contracts are still in 2021 until your UY month.

If you bank your October UY 2021 points now, they'll be available starting October 1, 2022, when your '2022' starts.

Same as your December UY 2021 points. If you bank them now, they'll be available starting December 1, 2022, when THAT '2022' starts.

Someone with a February UY is already in 2022. If they banked right now, they would be banking 2022 points (not 2021 points like you have) and they would have to wait until February 1, 2023 to use their points.
