Does having 150 points at OKW at 56 at BCV (same use year) change the banking rules at all? Is it the percentage of the total, or each individual contract?

I have 90 points left that I won't use this year....but since it's under 203, can I wait until December to bank? About 50 of the points are BCV and the rest are OKW.

As you can tell, I almost never bank points!

TIA

In the case of two home resorts, I believe each contract will be treated seperately for banking percentages. If both were at the same resort, they would be combined, but as seperate resorts, I believe they are considered individually.

If all points are same use year and you only have one membership the points are treated like a single contract when computing banking percentages, even if points are from different resorts. I have 2 home resorts and same use year and this is what has happened for me.

If they are separate contracts- each with a unique membership number - the banking percentages will aply to each one separately. For the contract size mentioned, if the 56 BCV points were a resale purchase - then you have two memberships. If they were purchased from DVC as an add-on, the percentages will be based on the total points owned at both resorts.

In addition - you should be aware that the percentages are based on the total points in the contract - not just on the points remaining in the current Use Year. If you own a total of 206 points- you have a full 6 months to bank up to that many points. You would have until the end of the 9th month of your Use Year to bank up to 103 points (without regard to the resort) and up until the end of the 10th month to bank up to 51 points. The percentages are cumulative, so if you have already banked any points and it's after your first 6 months- the points already banked will count towards the 50% and 25% totals.

If they are two separate memberships, the percentages are the same, but are based on the total in each contract.

Enjoy!
