I have read the book (twice) and am still somewhat confused about banking/borrowing. Here's my question: If I plan on a Thanksgiving 2004 trip, I will need to borrow some points (less than 100) to book at BCV at 11 months out. Meanwhile, I hope to switch to OKW, my real target, at 7 months. OKW will still involve borrowing, but not as many. So what happens to the borrowed points? I THINK I am stuck with them. They are in that year for good. When I make the res at OKW I have to ask them to use borrowed points first, then I have to BANK the remaining points into the following year. Is that right?
Also confusing is the double-booking. When do I cancel my BCV reservations? One day at a time? If I call and they have the OKW room available, can I ask them to cancel just that one day at BCV so I have the points available to book the one day of the room at OKW? I can book BCV in Dec 2003 and OKW in April 2004. My use year is March so I think this plan works? If I get my way in April there is plenty of time to bank the remaining 2003 points. (?)
