Banking/Borrowing question

So i currently have a trip booked at Saratoga Springs for Nov 7-14, except for the nights of 10 and 12. I am in waitlists for those nights. I do have a room booked at AoA for those nights if nothing comes through.
Here is my question. My use year is December. I need to bank any extra points by July 31. I currently have 118 points available for 2020 use year.

i am trying to figure out my options. I could hold back enough points to cover the two nights i need and bank the rest. If nothing comes through i would just lose those points.

my concern though is whatif something comes through at another resort i am waitlisted at and i end up needing more points than what i chose not to bank.

i could choose not to bank my piints at all but that would leave me ope. For losing all 118 points which is too risky for me.

i am wondering if i were to say book the 118 points and then something came through for my waitlists could i just borrow points from 2021 use year or is that not allowed since i have banked points that i can’t use yet.

You can bank the 2020 points now and if your wait list comes through you can have it set up to borrow the points that are needed from your 2021 UY. I would not hold any points in reserve in order to cover the wait list or another resort. As long as you haven't already borrowed 50% of next year's points already you should be okay.

I agree.. bank them all and then call MS to change the waitlist to add borrowing is allowed.

This way you don’t leave any points at risk.
