Banking Borrowed Points

Quick, easy question. If I borrow points from next UY and then end up not needing a couple of them, can I bank them back into that UY?

I need to book 3 nights next December pre-cruise and really want Riviera, but the Poly rooms we own at will cost a bit more. So I plan on booking Poly when I can so we have something then switching to RIV if able at 7 months. Just wondering what would happen to those borrowed points.

No. Once borrowed, they can’t be put back.

However, when you downgrade, they use banked and borrowed points first, and then free up the current UY points used, which can be banked.
