I am still trying to comprehend it all, so please forgive my ignorance.....:)

If I purchase 160 points at AKV with a use year of say OCtober and my contract starts 10.1.2008

Can I.....

Book a 260 point trip for May 2009 (using my 160 and borrowing 100 from 2009)

Then go on my next trip, say May 2010 would I be limited to just 220 points (06 from 2009 and 160 borrowed from 2011).

In other words, can you only borrow a year ahead, or is it unlimited? i.e. use 400 points in year one, year two, etc etc

Yes. May 2009 falls within your 2008 use year (10/1/2008 - 9/30/2009), so you could use 2008 use year points and you could borrow 100 from the next use year.

Then go on my next trip, say May 2010 would I be limited to just 220 points (06 from 2009 and 160 borrowed from 2011).
Yes. But then you would have no points left in your 2011 use year.

So if you wanted to vacation in your 2011 use year, you would be limited to the 160 points that you could borrow from 2012. I suppose you could get someone to transfer you some of their points (for a fee) if you needed more than 160 points for your trip and you didn't want to do an add on to increase the number in your contract.

You can only borrow one use year ahead.
