Banking and borrowing - easy way to understand?

We just became members and haven't rec'd our packet yet in the mail. Can someone direct me to a post that may explain exactly how banking and borrowing works? I understand how you must bank your points within the first 6 monts of your use year to retain all of the points. But other then that i don't know the rest of the details. Thanks
