Banked points confirmation

Just banked my points for 04/05 by phone with member services and was given a banking ref number over the phone. As this is my first years points (we are hoping to put together with 05/06 points and spend longer at SSR) should I expect to get written confirmation of my banking or will the verbal reference suffice?

Thanks Paul

You will usually NOT get a printed comfirmation when banking points. They will send a printout of your point account if desired ... and I think it's a good idea to request one of those periodically (annually or bi-annually).

I just write down the banking confirmation number - it will always begin with BK followed by a nine digit number (I think it's 9). That should be all you need. I've never had a discrepancy later where the BK# was needed.

Enjoy!

I've banked points the past 4 or 5 years, got the confirmation # but never got anything in writing. I always confirm my points balances by use year after a transaction so I know they did it right.

If you bank by email, they will email you back with the confirmation. I always save that, but I've never had a problem anyway.

This is one of my biggest dissatisfaction items with DVC. I think it is barbaric that we cannot see our account information online.

When we go online we should be able to see:

Account balances
Payment Information
Real time inventory of each resort, by room classification and date
Etc

And we should be able to perform:

Banking/borrowing
Booking of reservations
Canceling of reservations
Payment of MFs
Etc

The current system is really disgraceful... and when you combine that with MS which closes at 2:30PM PST... it becomes an atrocity.

I don't think DVC wants to put a lot of money towards an internet system. It would be complicated with many members having multiple contracts, multiple use years, banking, borrowing. To be honest, if they are going to use member dues towards developing it, I would rather they didn't spend alot of money and go slow like they are. I'd rather see increased dues go towards services and upkeep. I've been a member over 5 years and never had a problem with the current system.
