I am going to be a freshman and I play the french horn and melaphone(sp). I was going to play the tuba for marching band this year but it was way too much with the class load I am taking this year. Our show this year is Insomnia. I am in a 7-12 grade school and was in high school band last year. Our show was Pirates of the Caribean(sp).

Our band camp is August 15-19, 5-9 pm every night. Except we kinda don't have a band room, since they're doing major renovations on the school and they knocked it down at the beginning of the summer, and the new one's not exactly finished. We might not even start school on time if they don't finish the new wing!

When I was in 7th grade my school was brand new and they hadn't even finished it when we started school. The industrial arts wing wasn't finished with construction and the whole school was a little unorganized.

to those freshmen that dont know how they are going to get through band camp, memorize music AND do honors classes, etc. dont sweat it to much. it is hard work (trust me...3 hours of practice 2 times a week and 3 honors classes) but its all worth it in the end...you make great friends for life...more like one big happry family) just try you hardest, dont tick off the section leader and drum major, and have fun!!

We're doing a broadway type show this year........phantom of the opera, cell block tango (from chicago), and pinball wizard from tommy. I've never really heard of the last one before.

Last year we got 24th in Texas State marching competion with music of the day by key poulan. Awesome drill and music, but uil is about sound, not quality, but quantity. We could do so much more stuff big bands couldn't, but oh well. This years show is Estancia Ballet arrangement by Key Poulan, with a movement called BARTOK by bela bartok which is basically all drums. it sounds awesome, to bad we are only doing local competitions this year.

Yeah. We got to do everything that the high schoolers did. I was also in high school band at the end of the 7th grade year but that was just concert band. I also got a high school letter this year. I hated band camp but it was worth it.

I'm not in MB, but the band at my school is gigantic. 150+ last time I checked (we're not a very big high school to begin with)

I'm not in it, but i'm part of the posse (the majority of my friends are in it). If they made "Marching guitar" or "Marching Violin" I would TOTALLY be in it, lol.

My friend wants me to join pit, also.

150 is by far the largest club in our school.
Schools in Texas are probably 9 times bigger than ours.
