Our show this year is... different. Were playing "Festive Overture" By Dimitri Shasktovitch... this song is a typical sitting down and staring at sheet music song. Its HARD! Our second song is Peterloo Overture by Malcom Arnold i think. The cavies did it in 1992 and won DCI!

Im a trumpet by the way, if you havent guessed! Our band has 129 members.. 19 color guard, 12 drumline, X number of pit and urmm dunno how many playing members. But anyways, its pretty awesome, our band is one of the best in the state and were going to BOA regionals in attanta in 3 weeks!

Man, you know i can't get enough of the cavies they are the absolute SHIZZNIT!!!

And speakin of the cavies, we listened to the tape of our preformance yesterday and it sounded exactly like them!!!!

man o man laura! we have the wincheaster parade on april 29 and may 1. So i dont think i will be able to go down.... mand o man! i am sorry.

We had our first show sadurday and everyone loved that watched. But we were at home and no one in the band thought that we did well! so we will find out how good we really are this saturday. we are going up to okland. is anyone else in TOB?


I saw the DCI show at westchester this year. It was good. I love the cavies and crossman. Did anyone else go? and who won this year?

i'm a choir geek myself, lol, but alot of my friends are in band, be it concert band, jazz band, or marching band. to give you an idea of how big my school is, there are about 40 people in the band altogether and no color guard. we went to disney last year for spring break but neither choir nor band had enough to perform. we filled a tour bus, thats it. this year we're going to Myrtle Beach during the college spring break to perform at the Fiesta-val ( i love the way thats spelled lol) and hopefully we'll do okay. i love band nerds!

My show writer is coming in this week and i just found out that our score was a 78.2 That isnt bad at all for the first time out! it is going to be an exicting week for me!

we have our first real show today.... where we can place. I am a little scared... I think that we will do well... but some of the people in the guard just dont get it. I am worried that they are going to bring everyone else down with them. But i have to go so i can get the bus. I will let you all know how we did tomorrow. pray that we get over an 80 and that the guard gets a 16!

Wow I feel really outa place i am only in the 8th grade band! But We ROCK! we get to go to festival and also solo and ensemble which is a lot of fun! I play percussion which is drums toms bells etc. and im the only girl. I would be first chair but we arent doing chairs this year because people are complaining! I really love band i think it ROCKS! Are first concert for this year is America we are playing god bless america, sing sing sing, and flip flop fly i play snare on flip flop and fly and also on sing sing sing!

OMG YESTERDAY WE GOT 1ST!!!! We thought we weren't since we only got one of the captions but we took it! and we got the highest score!!!! This is so sweet. Now we have regionals this coming Saturday. Hopefully we'll make state!

I'm a middle school band nerd who plays trombone. This year we are playin stuff like Prelude to a Festival, Disney's Magical Marches(I'm happy bout that one), Patriotic Bit's and Pieces, Spirit of the Sphinx, and others. These are probably considered real easy by all you highschool people and they're pretty easy to me too, but oh well that's what Mr.Kosterman(director) makes us play, so thats what we'll play. I am currently first chair, but that may change soon.

this weekend is our annual "band weekend from hell"... we have one every year...
Friday- Game at Manapalan (bout an hour away from us)
Saturday- NJMEA competetion at Wayne Hills (ne NJ bandies gonna be there?.. VERY far away.. wont get home until 12:30ish AM)
Sunday- Marching Festival at Steinart HS (still very far away!) all day
Tuesday- All Shore Marching Festival at (i think) Middletown North (not sure)

I have NO time for homework or ANYTHING this weekend.. AHHHH..

Last Saturday was ok..... We scored and 80.95 which put us 3ed in that show and we are now at 20th in TOB. That will go down this week bacuse we arnt going out. i learned that you shouldnt have Kids who take SAT's that morning stay out till three in the morning with no sleep. They go a little crazy around midnight!

Yesterday was a fun show. It was everyone in the county showing off to everyone else. We did well that night! bothe the director and the show front person sad it was good. I had alot of fun too! Got to see alot of bands. We also got to see (i think) the 5th band in TOB. we deffently had a better show then they did last night! but there are MUCH bigger then we are.

Our show writer is coming in tomorrow. I hope that he will help us! i think that everything will be better after he comes and works with us. It will also be nice because we can show it off tomorrow night because it is our hoimecoming game.

well this weekend was exhausting... lol
on the comp on saturday, the ratings were Gold, Silver, and Bronze. We got Silver. Only 2 bands got the Gold rating, and every says we should have. The crowd cheered more for our band than for any other. The reason we didnt is cuz we have fun in our performance... The band dances, one of our guys dresses up in a pink wig, and tons of other fun stuff. The 2 bands that got the gold were serious... no fair!

Yesterday we were first to go on(which sucks for regionals) after 2 sets(which are short) Our drum major started crying because the tubas screwed up so for the first 3/4 of the opener we sucks we pulled things together. ONe of our sax players on the last set fell and tore a tendon. We were all crying because we kinda sucked. We were all bummed and we had 3 hours till awards. We all were waiting and watching and finally I lightened up and had some fun and I got taped to my boyfriend...


Then awards came...


Corey(my boyfriend),Brian,Jess, and I all went down off the stands to hear awards. We got a division 1 which shocked us. hen after they said all the divisions they said "Now time to announce the 5 bands for state in marching order"(and we were first)next thing we heard is "PLAINFIELD!!" and we all screamed and ran towards eachother and all the hate left and we partied back to the bus and we dumped gatorade on our director! we got a police and firetruck to escort us back to our town! first time to state in 12 years! my freshman year and Corey's junior year! this is sooo sweet!
