We will be trying the Banana boat ride on CC this trip. My children are especially excited about it. I was surprised when I booked that it was almost already full and the CM told me it often fills up. How is the ride? Any comments from anyone that has tried it. Its's short but its also only $14.

My husband and 2 kids tried it. Another girl riding with them fell off (it was hard to hold on apparently) and that ended the ride for everyone. So I wouldn't say they got good value. They wouldn't repeat the experience.

We had an incredible time on it! True, people fall off at times. On ours we stopped 3-4 times with one person falling off. It didn't end the ride, though. You are given a whistle when someone is in trouble, so they stop immediately. I would definitely do it again. With the water spraying in your eyes, I might wear googles. It's difficult to hold on due to the bumps caused by the waves, the speed and the water that gets under where you are sitting causing it to be slippery for you. You're sitting on a rubber float material, so water underneath you causes you to slip and slide. Some people fell to the center. I was the first. LOL! You get wonderful views of the island and ship, but you are holding on for dear life, so if you wanted to take a picture with a water camera, you might fall off. I managed to take a few.

We loved the BB ride at CC. We had booked it ahead of time and my DS (9 at the time) loved it. In fact we were able to go on for a second time by just paying at the booth right on the beach with our KTTW card. I concur on the goggles. The salt water is nasty on the eyes and my sunglasses weren't enough to keep the spray away! The thing I liked most was going along side of the ship. It gives you a great view.

and loved it !!! We were the only 4 on. Me and my ds8 sat in the back and still got it pretty good with the spraying of the salt water. The only way I can see someone falling off is if they tried to. Your connected in the middle, so all you have to do is lean in, so if you were to fall off you wouldn't fall in the ocean.

Hi. I booked this excursion for myself (32) and my mother (60). Mom is leary of falling off the boat and not being able to get back on and being swarmed by sharks!!!
Someone wrote in and said that you will likely get bounced off into the water and others have said not so.
If you do fall off is it difficult to get back on? You know how those great whites are waiting for unsuspecting banana boat riders, haha!

loads of laughs but very strenuous!!

that sounds great fun......stupid question, but is there any size restriction?

The brochure does not state any weight restrictions. You must be 8 years old or over and able to swim. I am sure they balance out each side of the banana boat so weight shouldn't be a problem. Good luck!

Our family goes to Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, etc. every year where banana boats are abundant on the beaches. We always ride at least a couple of times on each trip. It is so much fun that we can never get enough of it. The kids (14 and 8 yrs old) like it even better when the boat flips and everyone gets thrown off into the water. We'd just climb back on and keep going. The trick to enjoy the ride is to relax your body and let your body move up and down with the motion instead of tensing up.

When we were at Castaway Cay a couple of weeks ago, we just walked up to the booth around 11:00, paid for the ride and got on the boat 10 minutes later as there were very few people waiting to go. In the afternoon, however, the boats were booked around 3:00 so we could not go again.

My youngest was only 7 when we sailed last May. His b-day is in September. When my oldest didn't show up for the ride one of the operators said, why don't you let him (pointing to my youngest) go? I told her he was only 7 and she said well, he's big for his age so I'll let him go. Needless to say, he had a blast!!
