Keep in mind, he is a thrill seeker. We went out on my sister's boat last summer, and the waves were SUPER choppy, the boat was airborn a few times, I was sick as can be, and he was just LOVING it. He thought it was the greatest thing.

I booked him for 2 outings. One with my Dh, and then another one in the afternoon with me, in case he loves it so much, he wants to do it again.

Do a lot of people fall off?

Yes he will love it. I think us older folks fall off more than the young kids who have less fear and better balance!

My son did it for the first time when he had just turned 8....and he went twice and totally loved it!! He even rode with only one hand! About gave me a heart attack, but he was having a blast!!

My kids loved it but I wouldnt say you need to be a thrill seeker to enjoy it. Even my one daughter who isnot a thrill seeker loved it. My two thrill seekers loved it too but it isnt the thrill that they got riding Kingda Kaa. That ride is nuts.

I havnt done this excursion myself, as I can't swim, however I have talked to lots of people who have done it. They all said it was a wild ride, and they loved it. Usually the people who fall off are seated in the back. So lots of times they will place kids towards the front, so less likely they will fall off, although you do have a life jacket on. My DH and DD and her family are going to try it in December 2005. I'm sure your son will love it!!!!

I loved it LOL!! Only one person fell off the whole time we were on it and he was seated all the way in the back.....

To quote a Caribbean dance phrase: " how low can you go?": how about 6 year old?

Yes, I have a DD 7 years 10 months by the time we cruise, any chance she may be able to go on? The two oldest have been on a  boat many times, and want to do, but the little one wants to try also...

The minimum age for the banana boat ride on CC is 8. Sorry.

My 7yo is the little fish of the family, so she is going to be very disappointed she won't be able to go this time.
