Ban on Carry-ons?

More fear brought to you by the same people you hyped up the EBOLA scare, SARS, mad cow, Y2K, etc...

Well, if you're flying 14 hours, chances are you're not going to Europe. So even on the negligible chance some version of this does happen, it shouldn't affect your flight.

The iPad is less than five years old. What did you do on long distance flights before that, or before portable electronics?

I'm not flying to Europe; I'm going to Asia (nonstop flight is over 14 hours). I'm not concerned about this possible electronics ban, as I highly doubt it is happening anyway.

Long haul flights have always shown a movie (in my adult lifetime). Before laptops, portable DVD players, iPads, etc., people read books, played games, slept, etc.; the same thing I do today on long flights, with the addition of my iPad. Of course, on long haul international flights, you usually get your own entertainment system. Which is great, when it works.

There are so many reasons why a carry-on ban wouldn't work. It's laughable to even suggest it as a counter-terrorism technique. I'm imagining myself with diapers, wipes, extra blankets and clothes, and the like for my baby all stuffed into my pockets. And we cloth diaper, so I'm sure the entire cabin would appreciate the smell of the dirty diapers for the entire flight to Europe since I can't carry on a wet bag to store them... ;)

I have a flight on christmas day. My guess is it will be uneventful. I'll let you guys know otherwise.

Airlines in an attempt to reduce paper waste are encouraging electronic ticketing how would we board flights without our electronic device. I guess they could microchip us and scan people in order to board a flight.

Hey the police dept could also scan people who commit crimes and get true identities and immediate background on people

Hospitals could scan people and get their medical history.

I see a market here. HMMM

No, they will force us all to fly naked.
Everyone would have to undress at the security checkpoint.

Then all the shoes, carryons, liquids and gels in Ziploc bags, clothing, etc. are gathered up and put on separate cargo planes much like Magical Express bags travel separately on trucks.

But they still accept cargo that isn't scanned at the airport prior to loading.

And this is my issue. As soon as every piece of cargo is checked thoroughly, then I'll start giving up stuff. That's my fear....that commercial cargo.
