Good Morning,

I'm looking for some information on a Bambi figurine I have. I understand it's rare due to the blue butterfly and I know I paid a lot for him years ago but I can't find any information online or in books.

There is alot of information on this figurine with the yellow butterfly but not the blue.

If anyone can point me to some information, that would be wonderful!

Thank you!

In the Tomart series, Volume 1, the picture shows Bambi with a blue butterfly.

Does your figure have the gold stamp?

Exactly what kind of info are you looking for?

From what I was told, it had a gold sticker but it's no longer there.

I have the set and am honestly considering selling them but was wondering what he was worth. Does it show a price? Any other information?

Thanks so much for the information! That's much more than I was able to find. :)

WebmasterKelsie- Arghh- you got me! I try never to reply to people who are looking to sell stuff, and want to know "how much they can get for it"! Especially to those who ask this question on their first post! But I see you have more than a few posts...

In the updated "Tomart's Disneyana- Condensed edition", published in 1989, the value of your piece is listed at $50- $135. But that was 18 years ago- since then, values for Disneyana collectibles peaked, and then plummetted with the arrival of eBay. I searched the site for completed auctions but could find nothing similar to your figure.

I am not an expert on values for figures, but the "blue- yellow butterfly" sounds like seller exaggeration to me. If your piece had the original gold foil sticker, the years of production and the exact manufacturer could be determined and the value would be much greater.

My best guess would be that if you were to put this item on eBay, I would start at $99.00, and hope to get near $150.00. It depends on who is looking for your piece that week, and how many other bidders are searching the same thing.

I hope you bought this because it is old and beautiful, and not because you were looking to make a ton of money.

Thanks for the information! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to 'get you', that was not my intent and was why I just asked for information on my first post and only told you why I was looking for the information when you asked.

I am a collector of Bambi and have been for years. I have a lot of pieces (too many actually) and have had this piece for a long time. It was never my intent to sell any of my collection when I purchased an item but times change and frankly, it's time for me to get rid of some of this stuff that's starting to pile up, ;)

Most collectors understand when they purchase an item, 9 out of 10 times they are not going to get rich by selling it. ;)

I still haven't decided to sell him and was just attempting to find some information since there's not a lot out there.

Again, thanks for the information, it was very helpful! :)

No apology is necessary. Obviously you are not one of those one time posters looking for a quick buck.

Yeah, there comes a time in every collectors life when things must be thinned out, and passed on to newer collectors who too, one day pass along the collectibles on to someone else.

I checked in "Official Price Guide to Disney Collectibles" by Ted Hake- The Bambi shown on page 110 is just like yours, blue butterfly, but with gold foil sticker. Value from 2005, $20- $40- $75. The picture is identified as "Faline" but I'm quite sure it is Bambi, American Pottery, 1947.
