Bama Ed Has A New Camper

Congrats on the new camper, here is to many days of happy camping pixiedust:

Congrats! My DH and I looked through the pics of your new baby ! She is looking good and ready for years of service in the great outdoors. May you have many happy memories ahead. Enjoy.

You are causing a bit of jealousy here!
We've been eyeing the Aliner since we sold our pop-up (had 3 kids in college at the time and a daughters wedding).
Thanks for sharing the great photos!
Happy Camping to you!

Congratulations Ed! I'm so happy for you and your wife...May you have many more trips with your new Aliner, then you did with your popup...
I think it beautiful... Can you post a picture with the bed down? I was wondering if they were full size or queen...

Congrats!!!! I hope you guys really enjoy it, our dealer up the road from us sells a lot of them. They seem to be very popular!

veraletta,

I'll have to post a picture later because it's closed up now in the basement but the size is 60x80" for the sofa turned down into a bed and 40x80" for the dinette turned down into a bed.

Well, connor, I had the plan in motion when I was at the Fort last month. I had just made the offer, paid a deposit, and signed an offer sheet the day before we left for the Fort but it wasn't a done deal yet. After we got back from the Fort, I had to find a free weekend to take my old popup over so they could inspect it for trade-in value (and they admitted it was in great shape), do the paperwork, and bring home the Aliner. I admit I was a little emotional about letting go of the popup due to all the memories but I hope some young family will buy it and use the heck out of it.

Our sales guy also said how busy they were selling Aliners, Little Guys, T@bs, and the ultra lite lines they carry. He said in all 12 months of 2013, they sold 60 campers. Up through this weekend (barely 3 months into 2014) they had sold 39.

Sadly, first trip won't be to the Fort. But we do have a weekend identified that's free and there's a decent little Corp of Engineers campground near a dam not far away. No sewer hooks but it's nice so that might be where we go first. I'm ready to start thinking about making improvements but DW wants to simplify and take less and leave it as-is. So we'll take it on the shakedown as-is and go from there. The Fort isn't in view until next year if then.

Thanks NoM.

For those of you interested in the Aliner, make sure you watch these 3 youtube videos from the tv show "Rollin' On". Segments 1,2, and 4 are Aliner related. Segment 3 is not Aliner related. Total of all 3 is maybe 15 minutes.

Congrats ed! Moving to a unit you will see more enjoyment out of now that your kids are older and around less sounds like the perfect move to me. Just because the popup is gone, the memories are not. And now you move on to making new memories and adventures.

More campouts and less set up...plus you are saving fuel since this camper is lighter. I envy you being able to pull into a rest stop for a snack or nap. You'll be sitting in the camp chair drinking a cool one just minutes after pulling into your campsite!

I have heard that you have to be very carefull setting it up if it is windy, though.

Congratulations....:cheer2:.I bet it was hard to say goodbye after 175 nights....but this one is ready to make another 175 nights or more of memories. Enjoy it !!!

Ed, Congrats on the new Aliner!!!! I know you will be very happy with it.

We bought our Aliner a couple of years ago and love it. It fits our lifestyle perfectly. If you don't already have it I would recommend getting the high wind kit.

Enjoy the new camper!

Congrats Ed, something like that is probably my next camper too. My kids are soon to be gone as well but we love the PUP and don't want a big TT. I like the ones with the dormers but they are hard to find around here.

Have fun in your new toy!
