Bama alumni and fans, let's celebrate~! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on what has happened here in Miami over the past 2 years and especially the last week, I don't think Alabama is getting the type of person they are looking for (or think they got). If you look at his the Dolphins now, compared with what they were when he took over, they haven't improved in any category. Not wins, not player selections, not future prospects, not salary cap. That translates into poor coaching and management. Then he turned his back on the franchise, lied to the media and Dolphin fans, quit on his commitment to the team and left town without the guts to address the situation.
As a Dolphin fan, I came to the realization that he wasn't going to be the answere when the 2006 season ended worse that the 2005 season. I would rather we get a new coach now than have 2-3 more seasons of the same result, so this is not sour grapes. I, along with all D fans, was very hopeful he was our savior when he was hired from LSU.
My opinion of the man, both individually and professionally, has changed 180 degrees from when he was hired here 2 years ago.
Good luck, I think you might need it.

Ahhh nothing like an angry Fin Fan. How is Culpepper working out there? And how is Ricky Williams? :rotfl2:

Seriously though, I don't think you can place all the blame on Saban. I do not believe he had the final say on personnel. And what would you like himto say? "Sorry the Dolphins are still crappy?"

I liked Coach Shula, and I wish the higher ups had given him more of a chance. A little eye candy for the women isn't bad either! ;) But since they did fire him, I am very happy with them getting Saban.

There's a poll going on right now in one of the local papers here in South Florida...almost 30% of respondents want Mike Shula to come down to Miami to coach the Fins!!! Whaa?!?! Maybe they can simply trade houses?

You're asking for it, young lady!!! ;)

A trade! How funny! We'll take yours, you take ours, let's see if either one can do better... I'm sure Mike's Dad would be thrilled! It could be a Dolphins Dynasty!

Culpepper was Saban's selection. You are incorrect regarding his authority with personnel, it was one of the conditions of his accepting the position - he had total control over the team and all personnel or he would not have taken the job. You should take a look at the facts regarding Saban's employment here before making statements like that.

I feel bad for the Dolphins because they did everthing Saban demaded and yet he still turned his back on them. We'll see what he does to Alabama.

Yeah, but how many of those 30% are suffering from Altzheimer's and don't realize that Mike's not his Dad? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

BTW, Jas, any news on the coaching situation with your beloved Steelers?

Ack. :scared1: I don't even want to go there. :rotfl: So far still no decision. Waiting, waiting, waiting. I have enjoyed this other coaching distraction. Plus I have a BCS Championship game that I am looking forward to. ;)

And I apologize, Saban did have authority over personnel decisions. Still, I say there has to be more than money that made him run.

And they're paying him how much? Can you say DESPERATE??? Hmm let's see how long this one lasts. :rotfl2:

Haven't heard about it? :confused3 The media around here just doesn't seem to be covering it? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I know the feeling. Every two bit sports reporter has been dispatched to Arizona. Oh and I'll clue you in on the tear jerker story for the game, which really is sad, but will be referenced throughout the entire game... Reggie Nelson's (Gators Defensive Back) mother passed away from breast cancer. Her funeral was just this Saturday. He is from here (here as is in literally HERE where I live, not just Florida), and it is heartbreaking, but I know it will be played out over and over again in the game. Poor Miss Mary, I am sure she wanted to hold on for this game and I bet she would hate to be a distraction to the whole affair. :sad2:

Sorry to hijack the thread. Carry on.

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!

I'm glad Bama got Nick Saban....even if he only sticks around for a couple of years. Heck, I'm used to the revolving door. ;)

Don't get too attached to him. I wouldn't expect him to last more than 3 years based on his resume. The bitter LSU alum is coming out of me right now. At least our current coach is doing much better than expected and we made it to a BCS game again.
Yep!

and...

Don't get used to $aban. He goes where the $$$ tell him to go.

Yep!

eh, that'll just give you guys an extra year to stew in your own juices. I bet half the tigah nation already has the 2008 date circled when bama comes to baton rouge. it would be a sell out today if tickets were on sale. there will be t-shirts. it will be glorious. take if from an ole miss fan, it takes years to get over.

No biggie there. We always sell out the stadium ;)

Don't you Tigers have something a little sweeter to worry about? ;)

ROLL TIDE!!

Another happy Bama fan here! And if it only last a couple of years....oh well, that'll be ok, too! Instead of worrying about that today we'll just celebrate! It's been a long time since we've had something to be excited about;)

What happened to?

"I will never go to Alabama, I am only interested in being the coach here [Miami].... how many ways do I have to say it?" "I have no interest whatsoever in that job."

Well at least you know he's honest.
