I agree with Uncleromulus. The only reason I take the Harbor Tunnel all the time is because I live south of the city toward Annapolis, so that tunnel is the best route for me when I travel north on I-95. But if you hear on the radio that there is some kind of backup on the Fort McHenry Tunnel or anywhere on I-95 between where I-95 and I-895 split to where it comes back together again, then I would take I-895. The key is to start listening to traffic reports as soon as you can get a good Baltimore radio station. The radio stations that have traffic reports is 100.7 if you like classic rock. They give traffic reports about every 20 minutes. Even if you don't like country, 93.1 has traffic reports every 10 minutes during rush hour drives. 106.5 is a contemporary popular mix station that also gives traffic reports. WBAL AM 1090 gives traffic reports every 5 minutes during rush hours (this is talk radio).
