Baltimore BOT-Fest

This has absolutely nothing to do with running but I feel like you guys know more about me then most people around me. About an hour ago I just got word that we landed a 2-year contract with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation. It's hard to explain but the PIDC is like the pinnacle agency to work for in Philadelphia. The own the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

The irony is that the Broad St Run ended at the navy yard on Sunday. When I found Nicole after the race I told her that I think I am going to be back here next week but it will be to sign a contract.

I think I will run somewhere tonight to celebrate.

Fabulous News!!!:cool1::cool1::dance3:

I feel the same way about our you all.:grouphug: I am happy we can share our successes.

Congrats Lou! AND Tastycake just moved there!

Lou - Congratulations on the great news. Now just don't get too giddy and go running across the field at a Phillies game!

Lou~ Let me know when you take your business public. I want to get in on the ground floor... make that in on the sewers. Best of luck in delivering what you've sold to them. I am sure you'll do well and hopefully parlee that into additional highly visible work for other organizations.

Congratulations! :banana:

No running for me tonight. I had a board meeting in Dover at 5 PM and finally got home at around 9:30 PM, I began my day at 8 AM.

Congrats Lou!

As for me, I've been sticking to a minimal running plan for the last week or so. Basically I'm running 4 miles every other day. The good news is that the knee feels good. I'm getting tempted to push my mileage back up, but for now I think I'll just enjoy my short runs.

Hi Bots-
Just checking in to say hi & yes I'm alive & lurking here.

Lou - This is fantastic news!! I'm so happy for you & would also like to get in on ground level when you go public :banana:.

Would it be shallow of me to say "nice job" to everyone else who posted something positive in the last few days & "don't sweat it" for all of those who have had a rough time as of late??? :confused3:rotfl2: Great! Consider me a vapid, self-absorbed troll :cheer2:. I gotta get back to work.

Consider me a vapid, self-absorbed troll :cheer2:.

Been there, done THAT! :thumbsup2 :laughing::lmao::rotfl2: :rolleyes1

No running for me last night, although it was on my agenda. I picked up our PC and then had to reload software programs we had lost when they installed the new OS (AOL, SpySweeper, McAfee, Printer Software, Camera Software, Microsoft Office, etc.). By the time i was finished, it was almost dark.

Tonight is opening night for my son's school play "Damn Yankees!". Andrew is a featured actor, singer and dancer. It should be awesome! :) So, I won't get a run in tonight either. I'll live. I want to do a LR this weekend, something around 12, then taper with a few small runs until next weekends Delaware Marathon.

Jodi~ J/K. :flower3: :hug:

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!!

Lou: Congrats :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Just wanted to wish all of my Bot friends a happy Mothers Day

I wish this nice cool weather had been here last weekend for Broad Street. We did sign up for the ODDyssey run. We are thinking of having fun with this one and going in costume as a group from the game plants vs zombies. Not sure exactly how this will work, but we have a few weeks to plan.

Happy Mothers Day to all of the wonderful Moms!!! Truly, you are all special ladies. I hope you have a wonderful day and that your children and/or husband made you feel very pampered today.

I logged my last long run today before next weekend's Delaware Marathon. It was cool and really windy, like running in a wind tunnel at times.

Miles: 13.02
Time: 1:57:21
Pace: 9:01
Spilts: 8:30, 8:47, 8:45, 8:28, 8:41, 8:43, 8:39, 8:56, 9:29, 10:12, 9:23, 9:22, and 9:11.

I felt pretty good, the knee is a bit stiff now, but it was fine during the run earlier today. I'm going to take it easy this week with only a couple short runs to keep in the game. The Delaware Marathon is Sunday morning.

Have a great week ahead!

Kind of quiet around here.

Got in 8 miles on Sat and 4 today. That's about it. Need to start thinking of some fall races to train for.

Jodi - Are you definitely running the PDR or Philly RnR 1/2?

Anyone else running it?

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Lou: Butch and I are in for the PDR. We haven't officially signed up yet and should probably do that soon, but we are in.

Jen - That's cool. I'm a little disappointed that they ditched the PDR name but it's still a nice race.

I just booked the Philly Marathon for November. Any of you MCM people want to come run Philly? You should be able to BQ Philly after you run MCM.

Lou

I'm in for PDRnR1/2! I signed up at the expo last year for cheap (relatively). I'll be there with TNT.

I refused to double post, so I waited... PATIENTLY!!! :headache:

Thanks for breaking the silence Lou!!

I'm thinking about the PDR/RnR 1/2. Two years ago I ran PDR, MCM and the Philly Marathon. Too much to do these days to make that happen and stay healthy. So, I'll think about it. :rolleyes1 I have a DISCOUNT CODE for the Philadelphia Half if you need one: Go to RunRocknRoll.com and use Discount Code: PDRSURVEY09. It should take $10 off the cost.

This weekend is the Delaware Marathon!!! Projected forecasts are a low around 51 and a high of 73. Sounds good so far. I'm sure it'll be hot.

My knee is feeling pretty crappy after my 13 miler on Sunday. I took an anti-inflammatory today which helped. I hope this quiets down before Sunday. I am not planning on running any miles this week. Taper City. :thumbsup2

Enjoy your Wednesday.

HI BOTSS!!

It HAS been quiet, hasn't it?

Lou - I'm going to check out when PDR is, etc., & should know today or tomorrow whether or not I'll sign up for it.

Howard - Good luck on your marathon...good idea laying low for a while...hope the knee holds out.

More later...got get going

Checking in to say hi!:)

Hope everyone is doing well. Sounds like fun has been had at all the spring races this year. The thought of even running 1 mile is overwhelming for me. Getting slammed with activities this time a year with PTA meetings, recitals, end of grade test prep., etc.,

Hope to come up for air in a few weeks.
