Baltimore BOT-Fest

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

Lou~ I think Cam will be cheering as much as she did last year (not much!). She'll be there at the start and more than likely towards the finish but with her knee, she won't be running all over to see us. We'll need to coordinate a time. The Citizen's Bank building on the corner is a good place to meet up.

Chester~ Let us know when your little LLC makes it's IPO. I think there are a few BOTS that'll want in on the ground floor (so to speak). Enjoy the Tobacco Road race and the pretty scenery (tobacco? roads?). Again, sorry about Tracy's Mom. I know it's hard to lose someone that momumental. I am lucky my Mom is still around and relative healthy. Unfortunately (or fortnately?) she is over 300 miles away.

Sara~ I was thinking about you and your first day back to work today. I hope it went well and that you were able to get back into the swing of things easily. I hope you are continuing to get healthier and stronger as time passes.

As far as Cam goes, she's doing well but still dealing with her knee on a daily basis. She is waiting until after the Delaware Special Olympics Summer Games (early June) to have the next operation. She is still going to PT for it and is doing upper body workouts with a personal trainer at the YMCA.

I am feeling 100% better with little or no congestion to speak of. I am still on antibiotics through the rest of the week. I have decided to run the Delaware Marathon (A BOT RACE) on May 16 with Judy's DH Charlie. This will be my second Delaware Marathon, but on a different course than when I ran it in 2006. I am mailing my payment in tomorrow. I deferred the Half last year since I was still recovering with a fractured foot. :headache:

I was approved to travel for business to Seattle in mid-May. It'll be my first time in Seattle/Washington State/the great Northwest. I'll be there from May 18 to 21. I'll be attending the 2010 ADRP (Association of Donor Recruitment Professionals) Conference. Last year's was in St. Pete Beach, FL -- Chester, Tracy and Miranda met me and took me to dinner. I don't think that's going to happen this time.

Have a great Tuesday!

Hey! What's this back-to-back doodoo? :confused3

I got out to run a bit before the Caesar Romero Half (as Lou calls it) this weekend. This was my longest run since the Walt Disney Marathon.

Miles: 8.0
Time: 1:15:23
Pace: 9:25
Splits: 8:35, 9:26, 8:55, 9:02, 9:55, 10:06, 9:41 and 9:41

The knee felt good throughout. I'm just not in the shape I hope to ultimately be later this summer/fall/the rest of my life. Give me time. :thumbsup2

Have a great evening!

:grouphug:

Good Morning Bots.

I have to post so Howard doesn’t have to post back to back to back.

Howard: Good job with the 8. Will you take it easy for a few days before the race? Good luck to you. I’m glad the cold is better. You’re a brave man for trying the neti pot. So was the Polar dip a success? Congrats on signing up for the Delaware Marathon. That will be here before you know it.

Chester: Glad you are able to keep busy with work. Sorry it’s interfering with your DISing time. Good luck at Tobacco Road.

Jodi: Hope you are feeling better. Lots of luck in NYC this weekend.

Lou: Good luck at Caesar Rodney. Enjoy.

Mike: Hope you got your fill of green beer yesterday since there was none at the parade.

Matt: Glad the knee is holding up.

Cindy: How is the running going?

Colleen: Hope all is well.

Sarah: Hope getting back to work isn’t too stressful.

Jen: Hi.

I did 18 in the cold rain on Monday. I felt pretty good for the first 12, but then got cold and tight and struggled a bit. It didn’t help that I only had 2 gels with me. I think I could have used a bit more fuel. I ran 9 yesterday with 7 at ½ marathon pace. I’m running a half marathon on Sunday. It seems that there are quite a few BOTS running a half on Sunday. It’s supposed to be part of the training plan for the marathon, so I’m not really tapering, but I think I will scale back my speed work on Friday so my legs aren’t completely dead on Sunday. I’m dragging this week. I think between the time change and the extra mileage this week, I’m just wiped out.

I went for a CT scan on my tummy yesterday. I don’t know when I’ll get results. I’m hoping I know something soon. I’ve had a few good days, but that’s happened before and the pain has returned.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Hi guys and gals:hug:

Since you've come to expect jaw dropping news from me over the past 3 months, I've got some more for you just to keep it interesting:rolleyes1

On my first day back to work, they promptly fired me:rotfl2::rotfl::thumbsup2 Yup, not sure what more I can say about that. I'm only concerned about getting myself cancer-free and I still have quite a way to go before that happens so I can't sweat the crazy work situation. It was all so surreal and I didn't even say much since I'm still disabled and under the care of several doctors, I figured it best to keep my mouth shut and plea my case in the proper forum when the time is right.

My girls have loved my being at home for the last few months and we're blessed enough not to require my income to live comfortably so I am looking at this as an opportunity to enjoy a change of pace and definitely take the spring off to get healthy and enjoy the summer off with my girls. I'll either go back to school in the fall or think about getting another job at that point.

Sorry for the all about me post and for once again having no running news. I did get my trach out on Tuesday and am waiting for the open wound in my windpipe to close up so I can begin getting outside again.

You're all in my thoughts and I'll try to post more once I get back to being an actual runner (hoping that's next week since I have LOTS of time for it now).:yay: Best of luck to Jodi and Dave this weekend in NYC:thumbsup2 to Chester and Mike at Tobacco Road:yay: and Howard and Lou at The Caesar Rodney Half:cheer2:.

Sara - Wow. Just wow. I love your outlook on taking the spring and summer off, enjoying the time with your daughters, and having lots of time to run! :grouphug:

Good luck to all the BOTs running this weekend. I'll see Mike & Chester at Tobacco Road!

Jackie

Sara - You are the exploding bundle of unexpected, aren't you! Enjoy the time off and concentrate on your health and your family. I like your "proper forum" approach.

CindyLou - Good luck with your half this weekend.

Heck, instead of repeating that line over and over...

Everyone (except those of you with exceptable health excuses and the random spring slacker (not to mention anyone specific but her name rhymes with Colleen ;)) ), good luck with your half this weekend!

Colleen - Sorry

Sara, sorry about the crappy work news, but I know your girls will LOVE having you at home.:grouphug:

Good luck to all you BOT racers this weekend!:dance3::yay:Can't wait to hear about the trail run.:worship:

Mike, yes, my name is Colleen and I AM a spring slacker and proud of it!!!!

Off to the final swim meet of the season today. Unfortunately DD woke up with a head cold this morning. I hope she has fun, because it will be kinda hard to swim with a plugged (Canadian) and/or stopped up (southern):rolleyes1 nose.

Sara
So sorry to hear about your job. How can they do that to you? I wish you the best and know you'll really enjoy spending more time with the girls. Take care and enjoy every minute.

I'm sitting at the airport waiting to board.

Chester

Sara: Congrats on the great news getting rid of the trach. :goodvibes Keeping it would have given you a god excuse not to talk while running though;) Sorry to hear about the job but it sounds like you have the right attitude-- enjoy the time off and spend the beautiful spring afternoons with your girls. You've earned this time.

Chester: Good to hear that you have been able to find enough work (although it sounds like a bit too much work) Let Tracy know we are still thinking of her.

Mike: Will you be ordering Chinese on this run too?

Jodi: I hope your leg/back/whatever holds up ok for this weekend.

Dave: Don't remember if I told you what a cool interview the Sherman one was:thumbsup2

Cindylou: Hope you are feeling better. Great job on getting out there and putting in miles-- good luck this weekend.

Howard: Nice job on the Polar Bear Plunge-- had more impact last weekend, this week just does not seem as polar.

Good luck to everyone in their halves this weekend. I'm a bit more onn the slacker side of things and will be doing a 5K. The name of the race is cool though-- Get Your Rear in Gear-- to benefit colon cancer research. My only other news is that we officially signed up for the DL 1/2. Now we have to figure out where to stay and what tickets will be cheapest-- this new pass for both parks makes the math more difficult...

I've got a lot to say, so I'll just plunge right in:

Sara - Your employers are clearly a bunch of a$$wipes. However, they have afforded you the opportunity to spend more time with your girls. Relax, heal, & enjoy. However, I would like to add my 2 pennies worth when you plea your case in the "proper forum". :rolleyes1. Let me know when I need to show up...Or you could just give me their phone # now.

Chester - I trust Miranda is OK after the accident...it's just been one thing after another for your family. Tell Tracy she's still in my thoughts. That's great news about the work...not because you have to pay bills or anything...you just need to keep that ark fueled for future trips & be able to afford entry fees to various races!! Good luck @ Tobacco Road!

Mike - That trail running thing sounds heinous :headache:, but I'm sure you'll do fine. Forget the Chinese food, I'd order Mexican popcorn::. Good luck to you & Kathy this weekend. Run fast for me!!

Jen - LOVE the name of that 5k you're running this weekend. Sounds like my kind of race director :thumbsup2;). Congrats on signing up for DL...I've just never had the funds to fly a family of 4 out there...and that weekend is just no good for us. Maybe one day.

Colleen - Run-shmun...you're busy being a mom while the rest of us have kids that are walking the streets @ night looking for a meal while their parents are out "training". :rotfl2:

Howard - Sorry you've had to tow the line here on this thread lately. It's because Dave has sooo many friends on FB & can't post here anymore that the BOT board is suffering...we're all over there trying to keep up with his page :rolleyes1. Good luck on Sunday!!!!!!

Lou - Good luck on Sunday, freak! Hope you've recovered from that LR last weekend.

CindyLou - Good luck on Sun., where is your 1/2? I hope your stomach doesn't act a fool on you!

Dave - So should I tell them or are you?

Jackie - Have fun on Sunday!

Mindy - How's the knee/workload? Are you guys too drunk from all that homemade brew to post?

Hip/leg/crap is feeling much better after a crappy 3 miler on Weds. That seemed to actually loosen things up...go figure. It hasn't really hurt much since then...strange, since it actually woke me on Tues. night aching. Whatever. The bad news is is that said 3 miler felt like 23...:thumbsup2. Oh well. We (meaning myself, Bruce, Spencer, Eli AND Skye - who's home on spring break) will ALL be heading into the City tomorrow a.m. Expo-hotel-Chinatown-dinner @ favorite restaurant-wander around Times Square-sleep-wake up-hopefully a JodiStop-run-come home. Might have to declare bankruptcy after that...STILL not sure where Skye's going to sleep...um...dirty hotel floor?:rolleyes1popcorn::NICE.

Doesn't everyone already know what a pain in the you know what... you are? :confused3 What more is there to tell? :confused3

Good one, douche bag. So here it is BOTS...Dave is being a girlyman & not running the NYC 1/2 this weekend! What a JERK!! Something about being scared of the hills in Central Park & having to work on a blog for the DisUnplugged. :confused3

Hey Dave, maybe you should just SHOW UP @ the next BOT event & WRITE about it since you don't run anymore. Almost @ 1,000 friends (I use the term loosely) on FB, dude. Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

Ahhhh, always the support and sensitivity I expect... ;)

Soon to be @ 1,000 friends MINUS 1 on FB.

popcorn::

:lmao:

Come on kids, I love ya both. Play nice now.

So, Dave...who's taking your bib???

Oh NO! You mean, I won't be able to experience the pleasure of my FB notification icon being bogged down with crap when I respond to one of your posts? Say it isn't so!:sad2:
Oh NOOOOOO.... my e-mail's all bogged down with crap and junk... sooooooo.....

Uuummm, you can adjust your settings so you don't get the notifications...

Jodi~ You are just brimming over the top with sensitivity and support. Just ask the puppies you befriend. :upsidedow Best of luck in NYC this weekend. Your trip (except for the Jodi-stop  ) sounds great! Send an eggroll to the Finish Line at the Caesar Rodney Half for me.

Dave~ Enjoy your freed up weekend. I'm not worthy in the FB friend category. :worship: I'm happy with who I have on the list.

Lou~ I picked up my packet this afternoon at lunch time at Delaware Running Company in Hockessin. I didn't know it until today but Cam's partner, Jessica Zeldin, is running and so is her husband, Jay Whitman, you met them last year on the steps at the Art Museum in Philly at the PDR. I'll be at Cam's office building around 8:30 AM, I'll look for you on the corner sometime around 8:30-8:45 AM and we can check the view out from the 14th Floor. :thumbsup2 Looks like the weather will be great for this year's run.

Colleen~ Have fun this weekend! While she's at it, maybe Jodi can send some Kung Pow Chicken down to Tobacco Road in support of Mike if you don't have any Chinese food down there in NC. Grits just can't deliver the need to race to the finish like Kung Pow Chicken (or any Mexican dish for that matter).

Jen~ Good luck with your 5K this weekend! Great cause, I lost my Grandfather to colon cancer some years ago. Wickedly heinous stuff.

Sara~ You are Mrs. Sunshine! What a great attitide and outlook you have. Don't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy your time with your children and get well. The "Proper Forum" will be the place to address any grievances. Best of luck when that comes about. In the mean time, enjoy the weekend!:hug:

Best of luck to all of the non-slackers/runners (Lou, Jodi, Mike, Jackie, Jen, and Chester) in events this weekend. I expect full reports!

:grouphug:

Jodi
Miranda's o.k. but her car was totaled. We're trying to get her a new car now.

I'm exhausted from work and should be working right now instead of taking a marathon weekend off. I'll have a huge pile waiting for me on Monday.
