we are considering a day trip to Baltimore inner harbor on Sunday (day before memorial day) i have heard that going after 3 is the best to avoid crowds, but with the place closing at 7 (doors close at 6, but they allow you to visit for an hour after that).....is 4 hours enough time to get my money's worth? (would be @$60 for all of us)

or would we be better off going there after a lunch at inner harbor and fighting the crowds mid day and at least see some things while it is mobbed and hang in there until the crowds taper off.

We went in January and spent about 5.5 hours in the area (and did the dolphin show in the aquarium). We then toured the boats/sub, etc docked nearby. We arrived about 9:30, had lunch at Phillips and then were back on the road by 3:00 (to beat rush hour traffic out of town). SO I would guess maybe about 3 - 3.5 hours at the aquarium in January. HTH

Yes that should be fine . it will be a bit rushed but by all means get everything in

Yeah, I agree. However, the aquarium is one of the few places where it's really worth it not to rush through it. It's so much fun there.

Actually hitting the last dolphin show of the day then doing the rest of the aquarium is best. :thumbsup2 We did that a few years ago and practically had the whole place to ourselves. And we had plenty of time before closing.

All I can say is get there early!!!! Last two times we have gone to Baltimore to see DFs family we weren't able to go. The first time we didn't get there until late and we wouldn't have had enough time.

The second time we got there around 1, but they only let so many people in at a time, so we could buy a ticket and couldn't go in until 4:30. We had dinner plans so we couldn't go then either.

Gosh, it's been like 10 years, but when I went, IIRC we went to lunch in Inner Harbor and then headed to the aquarium, which was WONDERFUL. We had plenty of time to see everything we wanted to. I don't remember the crowds, but I was too gaga over the aquarium and the guy I was with to pay much attention to anything else. ;)
