Baltimore advice

I assume OP isn't planning on attacking anyone with a bat
No...but the squeegee kids are notoriously aggressive. The police were called to that particular corner a few times yesterday. The squeegee kids will go after people if they don't pay them - even if you tell them no, ignore them and have your windows up. Baltimore is going to hell in a handbasket.

I wasn't going to chime in because I haven't been there in about 15 years but is wasn't good then either. We visited the aquarium (that is very nice) and couldn't understand why parking was so expensive. By the time we left we we happy to have paid it. Everything outside an easy stone's throw from the aquarium is pretty bad - and this is coming from someone who lives in Long Beach CA!

Baltimore is very close to DC. I'd make a trip of it and stay there - take in the National Mall if you never have. It's worth it! Go to the aquarium in Baltimore if you like but just that - and be prepared to happily pay ($$$) for parking.

I live in Maryland and avoid Baltimore as much as possible. Haven’t been there in a few years and when I’ve gone it was to either a baseball game or football game. It’s just not safe.

Going?

We just stayed in the Sheraton Inner Harbor after the Paul McCartney concert last month. I feel safe walking around the inner harbor, but as with most cities, be vigilant. I think the Hilton near Camden Yards after the cruise is a good idea. For the day before I'd still feel safe in an Inner Harbor hotel and walking around the Inner Harbor during the day.

Fort McHenry is a must! The video in the visitors center is amazing. Made me tear up at the end.

ETA: I cruised out of Baltimore in September a few years ago. I will NEVER do it again.

I don't disagree with opinions stated but don't totally agree either. We live in the burbs but occasionally go to Inner Harbor area and Orioles games. Just be street smart and don't be out all night. Stay aware of your surroundings and walk with purpose.

You've mentioned the best two things to do....Orioles game (and at the risk of jinxing them, they seem to be doing ok this year) and Ft. McHenry.....very moving.

In addition to many seafood (crabcake) places, Little Italy for dinner is great. It is walkable from Harbor but I think there is a circulating street car or trolley. There is a water taxi that has multiple stops around the Harbour including Ft. McHenry and Fels Point (unless changed by covid). You buy a day pass and just go as you want. Good way to see the whole harbor area

We've cruised out of Baltimore and going under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is really neat. Get your camera ready.
