What happens if you have a balloon and you want to ride a ride?
Can you leave it somewhere?
I was just wondering.

a lot of times, people just leave the balloon on the stroller. It may or may not get stolen to make sure you tie it on tight. Other than that, i believe the CM will stop you before you take the balloon into the queue.

If you don't have a stroller, I suggest waiting until the end of the day to buy a balloon.

Otherwise, you can try tying it to the stroller parking fencing or rails, but there is no guarantee that it will be there when you get out of the attraction.

If you really don't have a solution you feel comfprtable with you could pop the balloon and bring the broken remains to a kiosk and they will provide you with a new one. Not saying to be wasteful but you could do it maybe once and not feel too bad!

Also, if you ever find a broken balloon carcass pick it up and take it to a balloon kiosk; they will give you a new balloon, no questions asked!

Doom, Albort said recently that they do NOT do that anymore. Not even if the balloon floats away in the view of the CM that just sold it to the person.

That's stupid (please excuse me for using the s word! ) If the M sees what happens right there in front of them, I expect it to be replaced just bc it is Disney.

Wow really!?

That would be so sad if a child wanted a balloon, their parents bought one and it floated away just after they got it! But I guess they aren't that expensive either... :confused3

$7...:scared:

Albort (who works in DCA) and I had a convo about it a few weeks ago on the forums. I can't remember what it was exactly, but it's a recent change, and while I found most of it reasonable (and it caused me to understand why the CM in May gave us two balloon weights and checked the tie she did a couple times before handing it over), I am also a recent Disney balloon hater for many reasons, and I silently rejoiced when DS's dingdang balloon in May got stuck in a tree outside HoJos, b/c it meant I didn't have to worry about it being taken, worry about it hitting people behind us, or worry about it hitting ME when I shortened the "string" so it didn't float back to hit others anymore.

So taht's where I'm coming from when I say I really don't much mind it.

And for anyone who might get one, it's worth thinking about what you will be doing with it. Do you buy it at the beginning of the trip and bring it back each day? Leave it in the hotel? Do you buy it at the end of the trip? If so, what do you do with it on the way home? On our Sept trip we drove, and on check out day we put it in the car parked at HoJo's while we spent one last partial day...when we got back, one ear of the Mickey inside the clear big balloon had shrunk, making it look EXACTLY like the source of mama's milk, LOL, if they were blue. As the days went on, the other ear did the same thing.

Anyway, it's a momentary pleasure, unless you're the one getting bonked in the face (or being yelled at b/c it's bonking others), so it's worth thinking about all of that ahead of time.

we usually get a balloon for our little one at the end of our first day at the parks, to entertain her in the hotel room each day. At the end of our trip I leave the balloon and take home the mickey balloon weight.

Last Sept when I bought my boys Mickey balloons we were on our way back to the room so that was fine. Even got a cute pic in front of the Mickey floral with them and their Mickey balloons.

Until the balloons popped when they floated up and hit the jagged acoustic ceiling stuff.:headache:

When the boys asked for another balloon in front of the balloon CM I told them no since the last on popped.
She said bring the receipt and they would replace it.
Sounds like that is no longer the case?

ya and in the post a few weeks ago about them not replaceing them any more i said it then ill say it now. thank god my son dosnet like balloons any more.
Id rather buy him toys he can play with. He has to have one those spiunny light up thingys at least one night wwere there (he still has both his old ones. one from disney world a white micky head that lights up (was 5dollers)
and then a wand star (yes its probley a girls toy but he loved it and still plays with it.

I have given up on telling him he cant have something couse its girls toy he likes it ..like the sleaping buety set he has lol all he wanted was melifcent
so before you buy a balloon for 7dollers make sure your kid wouldnt want a toy instead lol (just my 2cents)

$7 is quite pricey for a balloon. The Balloon Vendor will only exchange a balloon for a balloon as long as the whole balloon is there. Weights + String is no longer valid. Vendors WILL direct guest to Info booth/City Hall/Guest services for a coupon for a new balloon to be traded with the balloon Vendor. But then again, it varies by vendor, if the vendor is willing to risk his funds being incorrect, he/she may or may not just give it to the person.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but its what management decided to do, not your fellow vendors. :(

Whaoh! I never would have guessed it was that expensive! :headache: Shows how often I've looked into buying one, lol.

Well that's a bummer, but getting bopped in the face by a balloon all day can't be too pleasant for parents anyway!

I've never understood why anyone would want a balloon. :confused3 It just gets in the way on rides and might fly away. I even saw a girl bringing her balloon back into the park first entry. I guess if you had a stroller it wouldn't be a big deal, but otherwise I wouldn't. I never got one for my kids and I know they would rather have a toy anyway.

I can see where they are coming from for not replacing it, if say, it popped, etc. But if flew away right in front of the CM, I would expect it to be replaced, and NOT just cause it is Disney. Even if it were Chuck E. Cheese I would expect that.

All those free balloons were about to break the mouse's back!
