Balloons everywhere.......

what an awesome evening......walking a few miles so we could watch a spectacular site.....my city hosts a balloon festival each year in AUgust.....the weather for a change was perfect....winds died down and balloon after balloon inflated and took off......we counted at least 15 at one time that were in the sky in our vision.....at dusk the balloons that did not take off ....lite up and they call this the balloon glow.....they had a huge american flag......Remax house ....and then the 188 foot space shuttle......hopefully we will get these pictures on line tomorrow......it is an incredible site to see all these fantastic balloons in one area....

Do they put little notes in the balloons or anything?

an AM flight ........probably the same for an evening one......the REMAX house balloon which is huge was over my house swishing his fire this morning at 7 am.....the shuttle and most of the balloons landed over at the BAtes college area........one last night landed in a marsh area about twenty miles from here.....they had to be rescued by game wardens....not that they were in danger ...but the darkness in the woods over took them.....good thing for radios

If you have never done a balloon ride, Pumba, you need to do it! We had a great time taking a balloon flight, even though it was about 20 degrees out! DH's camera froze up, and he had to hold it up by the flame to thaw it out! It is the most peacful thing I have ever done!

Sounds very pretty, Marie. We have a balloon port not too far from us, such beautiful colors and designs.

Sounds beautiful, Pumba. You would have to drug me to ever get me IN one of those things but I do like to look at them from the ground ! At night, it must have been so pretty.

We went to one in Hershey, PA a couple of years ago. The town was a madhouse, but the balloons looked beautiful.

90,000 extra people at last years fest.....it is spectacular ....but I agree.....even the tethered balloons ...which are all tied up and they give a ride up and then come down.....well fat chance
