OMG. $20.00. That is crazy. I have always seen them and wanted one. We are taking my DS for the first time in September and I was gonna make sure he got one, but no way for that price. He can have another stuffed animal. That is just crazy.

2-year olds LOVE balloons. I would choose a balloon over a stuffie at that age.

My daughter was about 18 months last trip and loved balloons. My husband bought her the $20 light up balloon. She adored it! The balloon seller kid told us to get a big bag from a gift shop on the last day and take it home.

We had no problem clearing airport security. Since my daughter had a paid seat on the plane and no carry ons we shoved it in the overhead bin.

We got home and it lasted at least 3 weeks. It was $20 well spent.

My son desperately wanted one on our last trip and my mom bought it for him. On the last day, I took a straw and slid it in the hole where you air it up and deflated it. When we got home, I stuck the straw back in and blew it back up (granted, not with helium, but it was still a full balloon). He bounced that thing around his room for months and just recently got a hole in it (after about 7 months) and, believe me, he was rough on it.

Helium balloons can be inflated again and again. I know because I work at a store where we use them to mark displays. In the almost year that I have been there, we have used the same balloons over and over again.

What I find interesting, is the people on this thread complaining about $20 for a balloon, meanwhile on another thread, they are discussing BBB for $180 - and think it's worth it. Everybody has something that they are willing to spend money on.
