Balloon question

Tomorrow is my DS's first birthday!

I'm in the process of cleaning and decorating for tomorrow. I will be picking up some helium filled balloon tomorrow morning. But I also bought balloons to blow up myself to put on the corners of the table, doorway, etc. If I blow them up tonight, will they still be inflated for the party tomorrow at 2pm? Just thought I'd ask before I blow them all up! Thanks!

Latex or mylar? Latex balloons don't last much more than 24 hours inflated, less if it very hot or very cold. You are probably safe blowing them up tonight, but don't expect them to last much past the party.

They are latex...I'm just blowing them up with my air...not helium, so I wasn't sure if they would last.

With just your air - they should last at least 1 week, quite possibly 2 weeks!!

It's a joke at our house that the balloons never die - they live on and on!

Yes, they will last. We still have one left from my DS's birthday on June 6th!!

Thanks! I knew helium balloons don't last too long...didn't know about my own hot air. Now that DS is asleep, I can start blowing them up again...earlier he wouldn't let me...kept wanting to play with them.

Skuttle, just a word of caution... Mylar balloons are a safer alternative, but if you really want to have latex balloons and any of them pop/explode, dispose of ALL the pieces right away. Small children can choke on those pieces of latex and there is no way to remove it from their airway if they swallow a piece.
