I love the Disney balloons and the balloon sellers with their massive bunches of balloons. How they stay on the ground I don't know!

However no one likes getting wacked in the face by a passing balloon and no one likes a balloon blocking their view of a show.

We saw a lady come into the WOC blue viewing area well after the section opened up only to stand in front of half the crowd with a giant Baymax balloon. There he floated blocking the view of a lot of people!

Just remember to be mindful of where your balloon is at! :yo-yo:

Agree. I wonder what goes through people's heads sometimes. we had a balloon right down front at WoC on our last visit as well. We were at the rail on the second tier right in the middle. It would have been perfect if it weren't for the balloon. And the girls standing on top of a trash can.

its tempting to take a pin inside the parks sometimes!!!:rolleyes2

I actually witnessed a guest hand her balloons to a CM as she entered Buzz's AstroBlasters and say, "I'll be back as soon as I can!" and off she went. The CM and I had a good laugh about her arrogance. We tethered the balloon safely to the CM's stand so he wouldn't have to stand their holding it. I don't know when or if she came back. Periodically throughout the day, I'd pass him and say, "I'll be back as soon as I can!!!" I think it helped to make a bad situation better. Wow! People are just so very self-consumed. party:

For this exact reason I wish they didn't sell balloons. As a parent, once you buy your kid a balloon you have to babysit it the rest of the day.

I tried buying one on the way out (past official closing time) and couldn't find the seller. We used a five day PH on consecutive weekends, and the previous week I left one of the double balloons in our car in the Central Valley during lunch. It was maybe 83 deg F outside, and we found the outside balloon burst at the seam and the inside ballon blew up like you'd expect from latex.

As for the ballons, I did deal with one during fireworks. I just grabbed it and clipped it near the top to a stroller.

Also, a few hundred balloon won't lift anyone. Just look at a blimp and see how small the cabin is. Besides that, each one is already tied to a weight that would keep it down alone.

In addition to balloon etiquette, ear etiquette. I know that glow ears are part of the show at Fantasmic and WOC now, but I've encountered people who wouldn't take their ears off when asked at screenings in Muppet theater and Opera House. It should be second nature, sitting down in a theater seat, remove obstruction from top of head.

When I buy a balloon I get it on the way out. I've seen them selling the Mickey latex balloons by the tram stop in DTD sometimes. They rarely last until the next day, though. Maybe one day I should get a group together to buy a bunch of balloons and go around doing photo ops. Should I try to do child swap with balloons, just to see what response that gets?

Stray balloon here and there during fireworks and other shows are better than a BIG IPAD screen! I had to go ask another guest at Aulani on our last stay to put hers away during the Starlit Hui (their Luau) as it literally covered any view of the stage anyone of us had.

Coming from NZ we have always had a good excuse to NOT buy balloons for our kids! My big gripe was with flashing mickey ears at Fantasmic - blocked our view, distracted with the flashing, and the person wearing them couldn't even see the flashing she had paid extra for!
