OK I just got back from a week at WDW and looked at SSR a bit from DTD when there.

The last Day I got to sit and stare as DW was in the restroom. I got to thinking that there were a lot of windows and few balconies.

I am wondering if each villa is going to have balconies or not? anyone hear anything about this? or am i being over critical?

Thanks,
Mike

I'm pretty sure the floor plan for all units shows a private patio or balcony. Did you see any balconies while you were down there?

I'm certain that each room will have a balcony.

Here is a photo of building #1.

I checked the floorplans in the SSR mini book they gave us on our tour.

Each unit does have 1 balcony or patio. It is always located off of the main living area in each of the units (the bedrooms have no balconies).

Doc if you keep sharing photos like that, I'm going to be forced to buy more points :D
Wow!!! It really looks great! And I don't even own there....yet.:smooth:

great picture DOC!

I'll be there in a few days to get a fisrt hand look.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

lampy...Exactly...the studio itself is a "main living area". I should have clarified that in my post.

Yes I did see SOME balconies. but there were lots of windows and not as many balconies as other resorts. as shown in Doc's photo.

so each one is going to have ONE balcony. In the picture posted many of the balconies look just the width of the sliding doors so you may fit two or maybe three people.

the bedrooms won't have a balcony. :( I am used to having a blacony off the bedroom and off the lving area (BCV, and VWL)

Will have to check them out in person in October. We are hoping to switch into SSR at the 7month mark.

Lockoff 2B will have two balconies--one off the main living area (the 1B balcony) and a second off of one bedroom (the studio balcony).

Based upon the floorplans I've seen, I assumed this was the same arrangement they have been using for BCV and VWL. Is that not the case? The on-line diagrams do not show a balcony off of the master bedroom for either resort.

With regard to the size, again my assumption was that they are the same two-seaters used at the newer resorts. Not nearly as nice as OKW, but no smaller than the other DVCs.

maybe I have just been lucky then.

The 1-br at VWL had two balconies, one off the living room and one off the bedroom.

The 1-br part of the 2-br lockoff at BCV I just had last week had two balconies as well. so it had three total with counting the one off the studio part.

yes the size seems the newer standard size. it is not the size so much as the number of them I guess.
