We just started researching DVC so I'm sure this will be the first question of many. :rotfl:

Do all of the DVC rooms have balconies? We really enjoy sitting on the balcony for coffee or after the parks.

Are the balconies really small at BCV? They look small in the photos.

The balconies at WDW DVC are very small in the studios of all the resorts.
Same with the larger 1 BR villas. The OKW 1 BR balcony is very large with a table and 4 chairs.

Rooms above ground level (where you have a patio) will have a balcony but there are variences, for example at BWV most 1BRs have balcony for both living room and bedroom but a small number have only bedroom or only living room balconies; none of the living rooms at BLT have balconies but they have access to the bedroom balcony from the living room; not sure if there are any studios anywhere that don't have a balcony but all that I can remember seeing do. BCV balconies are as you supect small in width which is true of most, except OKW has large balconies at least for 1BRs and AKV are larger than the rest.

SSR's balconies are decent-sized, and more than ample for 2 people to sit and have a drink or coffee.

Believe it or not the largest balcony at BCV is a studio, and there are several other studios with larger balconies than a lot of 1 or 2 BR units.

On average I think OKW has the best balconies, particularly the 1 and 2 BR units.
Never stayed in a GV there but I would assume they are large also.

But not all the studios at BCV have that large pie shaped balcony. I still think OKW is bigger (for the one bedroom and larger).

There is at least one studio at VWL that does not have a balcony. When the building was built, it wouldn't fit.

OKW GV's have the same big balcony as in a 1 or 2 bedroom, the GV with the best balconies is Kidani. Those balconies are huge, you could have a party for 20 out there!

Does the THV patio/balcony area count? lol. They are HUGE.
Heck ya it counts, not to mention it come with a personal grill! This is the only resort (THV) that has illuded me at the 7 month mark! But I'm determined!

We stayed on the concierge level at AKL in a 2 bedroom condos. The balconies span the entire condo! The balcony is framed with a thatched roof if you happen to be on the top floor. The views of the animals is awesome as well.

Small balconies? When someone says small, I picture the Beach Club main resort's barely-SRO balconies! You might not want to throw a party out on most of the DVC balconies, but I think most have room at least for a couple of chairs.

I don't think BCV has the SRO balconies, but they do have them at Beach Club proper.

I had one of the huge studio balconies once. It was an accessible room, which may explain the larger balcony.

Couldn't agree more. I think DVC balconies are really good size and great to enjoy a cup of coffee or take in the view.

So far, I've found the balconies disappointingly small for sitting on and having a drink, etc. -- SSR 1BR and several resort studios. While I've generally had a nice view when standing up, when seated, the view is totally (or nearly totally) blocked by the railings of various designs (generally for safety, I guess, altho BLT's railing design [studio room] would be frightening if I had a yound child in the room). There is room for two small patio chairs, and a small table, so you can certainly sit there. It may depend on the "luck of the draw" -- which resort, and which type of room. I'm really looking forward to my first visit to OKW, because the outside space is really important to me (and DVC, so far, is the worst for that of all the TS's I've stayed in -- I guess they don't expect you to spend much time in the unit?).

I don't believe I said all the studios at BCV have larger balconies. I was referring to one particular balcony at BCV which happens to be at a studio, and it is bigger than any balcony I have had at OKW. (it's triple the size of the pie shaped balconies) But it is one of a kind.

I agree in general the OKW 1 BR and larger balconies are far larger than at BCV.

Balconies...here are some pictures. I love balconies. I read, drink my beverage and sometimes even put some computer time on the balconies.

AKV value studio - end unit. I'm standing by the other chair. Overlooking the pool, good enough for coffee or drinks

OKW studio corner unit smallest balcony ever and not the norm

BWV standard 1 bdrm balcony. One of my favorites.

SSR studio balcony Congress Park. I'm standing next to the other chair and you can sort of see my DD's mug on the table. Also one of my favorite views.

You obviously haven't stayed at OKW! The balcony (shoud call it a porch instead of a balcony) in the 1,2 and 3 bedroom units at OKW are huge and have a ceiling fan plus a table and FOUR chairs. We often dine out there, and have almost all our breakfasts out there. LOVE the porch experience at OKW! I've never stayed at any other timeshare that had a better one.

And it's a real table, not a 12"x12" side table. It's like a 6' diameter table.
