We're doing Poly conc. and really want a full balcony, so there's more space for the 5 of us. Are there balconies on the 2nd fl., or just the 3rd fl. of the Hawaii bldg.? I've only stayed in Tokelau, so can anyone tell me how the rooms in Hawaii differ? Room size? Bathrooms? Thanks so much for your help. :D

Balconies are ONLY on the 3rd floor in Hawaii. Of course, if you're on the 1st floor you get a patio, but there's no balcony on the 2nd. Also keep in mind that the 3rd floor is smoking optional, so if you're very sensitive to smoke then you may want to request the 1st floor. Although, apparently it doesn't really smell too smokey based on what folks have said.

I don't know that there is any difference between the rooms in Hawaii and Tokelau. I do know the bathroom has one sink.

Also, when are you going? Because next year from June through September, concierge will be moved to Tahiti while Hawaii gets referbished. In Tahiti, there are balconies on the 2nd floor.

The second floor has a railing and the sliding glass doors.

We stayed on the third floor, the only smoking room we've ever had a Disney. Couldn't tell the difference between it and the non-smoking rooms. :)

we were on the second floor of Hawaii building, no balconey just a sliding door with a railing. It wasn't bad at all, although then again I never sit out on the balconey even if I have one.:)

There are no balconies on the 2nd floor in the Hawaii building. The rooms in the Tokelau buoilding are alittle larger than the rooms in the Hawaii building. They are maybe 5 ft. longer that's because it's a newer building. I don't think that there is a difference int he bathrooms, both have full bathrooms with the sink inside instead of outside.

We're just back from 3rd floor LV conc. There was absolutely no smell of smoke either in our room or in the hallway. The view from the balcony was amazing! We spent alot of time relaxing out there with our snacks from the lounge. We felt that there was more privacy with the balcony rather than the patio.

Thanks for posting! We leave for wdw soon (yeah)! And requested 3rd floor for the balcony (but don't smoke) I do have asthma so really are sensitive, but thought if it bothered us then just let them know. MKY:)

I get worried when people with asthma request the third floor of Hawaii. Beyond packing up and moving, there is little else that you can do if your neighbor's smoking has bothered you. We have stayed on this floor every time we have gone to the Poly and have had smokers on either side of us 50% of the time. I have posted before about the very unpleasant fight that went on between the people on either side of our room(one room had 3 smokers, the other had none.) I would hate to see anyone's health affected should they be next to a smoking room which they are entitled to smoke in(or on the balcony). Just an FYI and of course you may get lucky. I just love the Poly and am sure that a stay there will be just super!! Threehearts

Thanks, but I would never consider saying anything to someone about smoking, when it is a smoke- approved area. Having grown up with smokers, I can tell if my asthma is acting up, and when I need to take care of myself. (usually just removing myself for a while and then trying again. or I would definately just request a different floor, if I felt it was bothering us that much. I just feel if the neighbors are out & smoking, then go into the room. From what I have read, if seems the halls & rooms are not affected, by the neighbors, unless your experience was different. I truely, do believe smokers have as much a right to smoke, as I do to not.

We actually requested (only room request) that we get the room on the end if possible, thinking we would only be sided by 1 other room then. I'm talking the far - away end from the lounge.
Do not know if this a prime location, I would think not, no one else would probably want to walk that far for breakfast. Seem most people talk here about being 1/2 way to close to the lounge. I know this is probably un-likely, but was worth a try. :D

Well thanks for the info & wish us luck! MKY :D

Hi MKY-
We have stayed on the first and third floor and although the Great Tikiman may have a differing opinion, I do think that the third floor can have a bit better view. Good luck! Have fun! I just didn't want you to become ill. Susan
