Balconies at AKL?

Our room had a balcony alright, but it was located at the end of a row of balconies, so there was a wall to our left that blocked much of the view of the animals.

You should have told them to put you in a different room.

Hello all. I guess I should say Jambo! right?

I'm totally at your mercy, and loving every minute of it. Let me know what type of room to request. I already have a pool view, and my intention is to ask and then be turned down for a king bed, my little one co-sleeps, so extra room wasted on another bed is just that!

Is there a better floor than others? Certain area? I've heard others refer to areas that are completly foreign to me. I think that is the challege and joy of this hotel, it is genuinely foreign place.

BTW, did anyone else experience difficulty getting on line here last night? I had a couple HOURS to myself lastnight, and couldn't get on. :confused3

What if you get assigned to a first-floor room at AKL ... does the first floor still have balconies?

The rooms that I saw on the first floor did have balconies. The rooms that I specifically remember seeing on the first floor that had balconies were the rooms you pass by as you walk to the bus stop in the front of the resort. I'm fairly sure that the first floor rooms in the pool area also had balconies.

I'm so excited about staying at AKL, we are going July 2007! :cool1:
First time to stay in a deluxe and I hope its worth every penny! AKL looks awesome and I know we will have a great time! :bounce:

Here's the pool view we had from our balcony:

Thanks!

I believe the 1st floor pool view rooms either had balconies, or patios. Either way it's a nice place to relax.

If you have a savannah room, be sure to check out the many other "public" animal viewing areas. Different animals are on different savannahs (although I believe giraffes are on all three). By checking out the different savannahs, and animals you won't get bored by the "same old view".
