Balconies and Patios

[Weekend Brunch]

I'm trying to make a ranked list of my preferred room types for when the 2023 reservations become available on June 8.

Having a balcony or patio is very important to us so I want to rule out any choices that leave me at risk for a room with no balcony or patio. I don't do special requests, 1) because it's not my style, 2) because we arrive early and like to take whatever room is ready first.

This will be a triple split stay so I have three separate stays to book. Some of the resorts being considered are new to us so those are the ones I need help with. Please tell me if these rooms would definitely have a balcony or patio. If only certain view categories have balconies or patios please share that info as well.

BPK will reportedly have a few studios with no balconies. They will be located on the two uppermost floors.

Poly CL 2nd floor rooms have no balconies (we got assigned those twice).

BCV villas can have balconies of varying sizes and shapes, but every villa has a balcony or patio. Views are not the best on property.

All SSR villas have balconies. Some can be rather small. The grand villas have an outrageously puny balcony, especially when you consider that the room maximum occupancy is 9 people.

All VGF villas have balconies or patios.

Some GF outer buildings have obstructed balconies on the top floor. You cannot see anything but a wall if you are seated.

Which is why I specifically said the Hawaii longhouse, 2nd floor does not have balconies.

Unfortunately Poly CL is off your list of options due to the room requirements because a non balcony room is most definitely a possibility there.

The solid balconies are on the top floors of some outer buildings and are often associated with "dormer" rooms. We had one such balcony in Sago Key and really hated it. That room had a "garden view" I believe. It overlooked the marina and patio outside of Gasparilla Grill. However, the location was great for access to the main building and convention center.

I think that they could be any category. They are rooms located underneath the gabled roof peaks and could be facing the pool, the lagoon or vegetation. Boca Chica supposedly has theme park views but it's a sideways view. Much of the 4th floor and all of the 5th floor have the solid balcony, even those on the theme park view side of the building.

On our last visit to GF, we were in one of the top floor rooms under the gabled roof in Sago Cay. Our balcony was shaped more like a square than a rectangle. Instead of the slated railing, it is like a half pony wall. I remember the chairs being taller so that when sitting, you could see out over the wall. Some people really enjoy these rooms because they have vaulted ceilings and the balcony is more private. My disappointment with these rooms lies in the light factor. Because of the pony wall and the more narrow sliding glass doors, the room is not as bright. I will say, however, our room was extremely quiet.

We love the balconies, we usually have a nice breakfast on them when were not doing parks early... Beach Club has great views if you face the woods, also the Boardwalk has always been a favorite of my kids
they love watching all the action on the Boardwalk

Total understatement on the views. The views are meh.

Building is not yet open and the units may be renumbered at reopen.

Just in case some are not aware, there are BC rooms without a balcony
