Balance due/cancellation policy free dining?

I just switched our reservations to add the free dining and asked about the cancellation policy - the CM said the deposit is $200 and the balance due needs to be paid before July 5th (3 months) and there is a $100 cancellation fee after July 5th. The cancellation fee is $200 if done within 6 days of your trip. Is this a standard policy or just for this package? I know that when it was room only I had to pay one nights room deposit and the balance was due at check-in.

No, this is standard Disney policy when booking packages. When booking room only, you can pay balance when you get there, but with a package, balance is due in full 45 days before check-in and the refunds go down the closer to checkin you cancel.

One other note about cancelling a package - if you have to cancel after your 45 day mark, you can avoid losing your deposit if you transfer it to a new reservation instead of just cancelling (if, for instance, you couldn't go when you had originally planned, but you could go at a later date instead).
