Balance due after paid in full

But clearly not what is going on here since some people on the same cruise as me have new unpaid balances under $50 and others have over $1,000.
And some of us have had zero issues what so ever *knock on wood*. Some people from my cruise have charges in the thousands, almost half of their cruise total, but obviously already had to be PIF since they were able to check in week before last, and the charges are way more than the total of their onboard stuff. I would have expected to have a balance since we have a cabana and excursions, but nothing on ours.

Ok I misunderstood one of your earlier posts. When you said you spoke w/ your TA and you had a balance due, I read it as two separate statements (you had a balance due showing, and you separately spoke with your TA about it) - not that you spoke with TA and they told you there was a balance due showing. Sorry. Thanks for clearing up.

I guess I'll email and try to get it looked at to see if it's an issue. I'm already unsure of the whole check-in process, want it to go smoothly (e.g., not clear if I need to take actual photos of the citizenship docs at time I check-in, or if I can have pics I already took, or if I can just use PDFs I already made on scanner).

PDFs don't seem to work. JPEGs only. You can take the pictures ahead of time and have them ready when you check in. That's what I did for my last cruise. For your headshots you will nee a photo that is different than the photo used for your passport. So, just take pictures with your phone and download them to whatever device you will use when you check in.

I just got a new email confirmation that says I'm re-paid-in-full. I never called or talked to anyone so maybe they fixed it system-wide?

We received a new email confirmation for one of our staterooms (the other one was cleared already), but they didn't add the Vacation Protection Plan back. The amount was listed as 'Nonrefundable Charges'. Anyone else have this issue? We cruise in 1 week. Thanks!

Sort of—our DCL bus transfers are missing for three if our party and the cost is showing as “nonrefundable charges.” I am going to give them a few days before calling again. I’m sure it’s all part of the same technology problem and hopefully will sort itself out so I don’t have to call again.

Can anyone tell me that if you prepay your board account you somehow see this when you log into your reservation? I only saw Prepaid gratuities but I put $1000 on our room account. I do not see the amount anywhere in our system

You won’t see that in the reservation system anywhere. You are essentially buying yourself a gift of stateroom credits from the onboard gifts and amenities system—like a room decor package or a bottle of champagne. You should be able to see it in the app once you are onboard the ship and can access your stateroom account folio.

That has never been our experience. We routinely prepay gratuities, and they have never appeared as stateroom credit anywhere on our folio, either printed or on the app. However, they have always been properly credited to our servers and stateroom host and reflected on the printed vouchers that we place in the gratuity envelopes along with additional cash gratuities that vary depending on quality of service and length of cruise.

I read PP as saying they were able to see the pre-paid gratuities on their reservation, but they weren't able to see the additional $1,000 stateroom credit they planned to use to spend on board for other things (activities, drinks, excursions etc.). I've called and added stateroom credit using a Disney gift card and it always shows up on the stateroom folio once onboard the ship. Just like when a TA gives you stateroom credit.

Yes, that does show up on the folio once onboard. In pre-Covid days, there were also small printed cards with the prepaid room credits on the desk when we arrived at our stateroom, one per credit posting (gift card credit, onboard booking credit when that was still a thing, etc.).

Not sure this is normal, but hopefully someone can tell me that it is and save me a long hold time on the phone.

My cruise was paid in full at the time of booking, roughly two months ago. Today is my 30 day check-in date. I had reserved a tube rental for Castaway Cay a few weeks ago, which I expected to just be on my onboard account, but now it has been applied to my cruise balance and it's saying I'm no longer paid in full. I have a balance due of $32 for one stateroom and $16 for my second stateroom. When I click on "view price summary," it doesn't say anything about having booked port adventures (which is where the tube rentals fall), it just looks like my fare was $16 more expensive that what I had actually booked.

Should I just pay the $32 and $16 now and trust that I won't be charged for it a second time, or do I need to call and work through it?

Oh and I should add... I was able to successfully complete online check-in for the $32 room because it showed as paid in full this morning. The $32 on Room 1 and the $16 on Room 2 didn't show up until after I completed online check-in on Room 1.

Yes, this was an issue for many, including myself. I finally talked to a rep on Friday who informed me that for some reason booked excursions were showing up as the additional payment needed and it wasn't supposed to be, since they are added to your overall total at disembarkment. Mine finally cleared off and my PIF balance showed up again and I was able to check in the following day.

So I'm trying to figure out what is going on - if I log into the website, it says I'm still PIF (with the big green check mark), but the app says I have a balance due. Is anyone else seeing this? Should I just ignore it or ask my TA?

So it actually shows an amount in the app? On the cruise that I have with a TA the app has: Balance: Contact You Travel Professional. The Website has the Green checkmark with: We can't wait to see you

No, sorry I wasn't clear. I'm seeing the same thing you are. "Balance: Contact your travel professional" in the app and the green check on the website.
