Have you ever made baked potatoes on the grill? If so, how long do you cook them and do you season them at all?

Thanks!:D

I wrap them in foil and place them on the top rack. No seasoning. It varies on the time, I can tell by the "feel" of them, soft to the squeeze.

ooh ooh this is one of our favorites.

We use red potatoes (medium sized ones). Slice them into about quarter inch slices (keep the potato shape) wrap them in foil, and put them on the grill.

Cook for about an hour (this is why we use medium sized one, too big, and they will be like rocks still, too small, and they tend to get a bit 'blackened' ;) )

I think I will call DH and ask him to put some on for tonight.

Yummy

Yep,

Like deb, we used red potatoes, but slice them up, season with olive oil, parsley, chives, some onion. Put ingredients in couple thicknesses of foil squares. I make a couple tin foil packets full.
Check after l5 min or so for tenderness.

Excelletn. You can do this in the reg oven too.

herc.

we do med. reds or white or chef's with onion and butter wrapped in foil. for about an hour.. YUMMY is right

I nuke them first, then coat them with vegetable oil and place them on the top rack of the grill until they are crusty. It only takes 10-15 minutes.

I use large oblong potatoes, cut slashes in them the short way, but not all the way through, and insert thin slices of onion in each cut. Spritz with a little oil or butter and wrap in foil. Since they're not solid, they only take about 45 minutes. And the leftovers get sliced up, onions and all, and browned in a pan for breakfast with eggs the next morning. Awesome!

I also nuke them first. Then I make numerous cuts about 1/2 way through the potato on the top and spead butter over them. Add salt and wrap them up in foil. I turn them every five minutes until all sides have been next to the coals.

Leaving them wrapped in the foil, I then cook the hamburgers, hot dogs or whatever. They're still hot when you unwrap them.

Yummy!

I just wash them, put them in foil (white potatoes) place the on grill at high heat for about 45 minutes then reduce heat to cook my meat which usually takes anywhere from about 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending on what I'm cooking.

Because we like them very soft, cooking them at least 1 hour and 15 min is about the right time. Also put on top rack. But I don't precook or anything like that. This is just for regular baked potatoes.

I nuke them first too...then wrap in foil and slap on the grill for 10-15 minutes.

outside gets nice and 'crunchy'...inside stays nice and tender.

damnit...I miss potatos...haven't had one in MONTHS

I've tried mash potatos on the grill; it didn't work out too well. I have no experience with baked potatos, but wish you luck.

I also make a cut down the middle and add pats of butter with sliced onions. Vidalla onions are out now and are sweet. Wrap in foil.

Cook for about an hour on the grill.

I also take foil, put pats of butter on the bottom and add sliced potatos with chopped onions and a few more pats of butter on top. Cover tightly and cook on grill for about 1/2 hour or so.
