I just found this recipe on internet
I compared this to the one in my DONUT EXPRESS booklet
the recipe below has 1/4 C oil - the Donut Express only called for
1 T. shortening I think that is why they were a bit too heavy. So I am going to try this next time:
Recipe using DONUT EXPRESS pans
Ingredients:
1/4 cup shorting or cooking oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (can subsitute equal amounts of cinnamon or vanilla)
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
Cream shorting and 1/2 cup sugar. Add eggs. BEAT WELL WITH MIXER. Mix other dry ingredients (except 1/2 cup sugar) in separate bowl.
Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients. BEAT WELL WITH MIXER. Add last 1/2 cup sugar. Beat on low just to mix in.
With a tablespoon fill donut forms 1/2 full. Bake in preheated oven at 400 for 10 minutes.
Even though the surface of the donut maker is nonstick surface, I have found that butter nonstick spray, helps in the baking and removal process.
