Currently trying to decide between a NYC to CC and WDW cruise in November vs a 4/5 night Baja cruise with 2 days Disneyland + 2 Days San Diego in Oct or Nov. We are NYC based so the magic is easy but we’ve done that cruise before and found the day at WDW exhausting (probably our fault for trying to do too much in one day!). We had good weather down for that cruise (an Oct cruise, but the last day was a mess with cold rain and rough seas). We have been to DL and southern Cali before but only in the summer and have never cruised out of there. We have done all the ships and prefer the smaller ones to the bigger ones. So since the ships are a wash, and DL / WDW time isn’t that far off is it worth it to fly across the country for the Baja and Cali in the fall? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well, have you thought of sailing from NYC to Bermuda?
Obviously we have similar ideas b/c I am doing the NYC/Bermuda cruise this fall and a California/Wonder 2-nighter next spring. :)

Thanks for the response, we have looked at the Bermuda cruise but we weren't sure how the weather would be that time of year. My kids are big on swimming and the beach and it always seemed like fall is too cold in Bermuda for that.

Most definitely Baja/Disneyland. Use the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to get between Anaheim train station (less than 3 miles for Disneyland Resort Main Gates) and San Diego Santa Fe train station (directly across the street from the B Street Cruise Terminal). That way you don't have to deal with the maddening traffic on I-5. Also, If doing Disneyland first, fly into John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA), it is much closer to Disneyland and an easier trip, and use SuperShuttle to get to your hotel (can get for about $11 per person including tip), and the fly out of San Diego Lindbergh International Airport (SAN), less than 3 miles from the B Street Cruise Terminal (so don't pay DCL $18 per person each way for transfers). If doing Disneyland after the cruise, then fly into SAN and stay at one of the four hotels immediately across the street from the B Street Cruise Terminal (InterContinental San Diego, Wyndham Bayside, Residence Inn Bayfront, and SpringHill Suites Bayfront). Post-cruise, walk to Santa Fe station and take the Pacific Surfliner to Anaheim station, catch a cab to your hotel, and the fly out of SNA at the end of the trip.
As for October, the weather was beautiful on our Baja sailings, and you can't go wrong with Disney Wonder.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think we are going to go with the Baja since it will be a new itinerary for us and definitely better weather then leaving from NYC
