I have heard that it is on the beach and is the premiere resort of the island. Unfortunately, I did not get any more details than that, but these people seemed satisfied with their stay.

I was not aware you could arrange a DVC trade to this place.

We were at Padre Island last October. We didn't go inside the Bahia Mar, but from the outside it looks like an older facility. Well kept, but older.

The location listed in the DVC member book is the Royale Beach and Tennis Club. This is a much newer facility and looked very nice.

We enjoyed Padre Island -- especially the northern end where there is no development. There were signs on the road to watch for sand drifts -- after living in snowy places for many years I loved it.

We'll have to wait and see if Claudette pays a visit.
