Bahamian Postage

I assume when you arrive on Castaway Cay that you are purchasing Bahamian postage stamps at the CC Post Office. Knowing you need to take cash with you for these, how much is one stamp for a post card?

If I recall correctly, the stamps were around $.55 to $.60 each. Yes they are Bahamian postage and the little post office on the island doesn't have a lot of change, so make sure you take small bills (one dollar bills are the best).

In August '06 the stamps were .55 for regular size postcards and .65 for the larger postcards. I thought I heard the regular size stamps increased to .65, maybe someone who has mailed postcards from CC recently can give the current actual price.

The post office was closed when we were at CC on 9-2-08 due to TS Hanna.

Be prepared for your postcards to take 2 to 3 WEEKS to get to the USA. I think they ship them via rowboat!

I mailed a card on 16th August, I went into the post office in the morning and the stamps were $.55 but I forgot to bring cash, when I went back at the end of the day all the $.55 stamps had been sold so I had to buy a $.65c one

The card arrived earlier this week so took about 3 and a bit weeks to get to Ireland

Well my experience is contrary to what's been reported here, but when I was on CC October 3, the guy in the CC PO gave me $.50 stamps for a regular sized postcard. I sent around 15 postcards, and they've all made it to their destination. I even double checked when a postcard sent my my house came just to make sure that was all that was on the card.

My sister was just on the Oct 11-18 cruise. She mailed me a large postcard, purchased on ship, and there are 2 stamps on it. One is for .10 cent and one for .50 cent. Mailed on Oct 17th, and I received it yesterday, Nov 7th.

Just got off the boat today! Regular sized postcard stamps were 50 cents, and I think the larger ones were 55 or 65 cents (I know it ended in a 5!) We just sent regular sized postcards so it cost me $3.50 for 7 stamps yesterday!
