Bahamas Weather

I leave for my first ever cruise on the Disney Dream this Friday. The weather channel reports that the weather in Nassau is awful with thunderstorms every day! ACK!

I knew this was a risk I ran when I booked in September/October time frame, but I am disappointed.

Will it be too cold to swim in the ocean?

As its tropical there always is a chance of storms but they come and go fast, and often the rein us warm. I have been at Castaway with heavy rain and 30 mins later in hot sun.

I had a Halloween cruise late October and went swimming at castaway and it was warm and a great swim.

Agree with above....Bahamas weather usually has thunderstorms in the afternoon but they usually come and go quickly. Nassau has very similar weather to Florida...daily showers. Yes, sometimes you will have a whole day of rain but for the most part it is just a daily shower for a little bit and the sun comes out.

Whew! that's a relief. Glad it's not going to be ice cold and stormy all day.

Our forecast was similar for our cruise 2 weeks ago. It was beautiful. Very hot and muggy, but great weather. A storm threatened in the afternoon at CC, but most people didn't get out of the water. I heard the pools were closed on the ship for a little while due to thunder, but that was it.

ETA: the water was very warm and perfect for swimming.

I wouldn't worry too much. We had a beautiful day despite a showery forecast with a shower that did happen around all aboard time. Then it cleared up for a lovely evening. Have a wonderful cruise!

We always cruise in the fall. Passing showers some days, but that is usually it (can be more, but so far, not our experience). Plenty warm. We set sail the day after you do on the Fantasy.

Before our cruise earlier this month, I watched the weather forecast for the Bahamas and CC every day for over a month. That forecast is very typical, but it will not hold. It seems unlikely that you will have a wash out on your cruise! Two weeks ago the weather was very warm and the water was perfect. You will be fine!
